Go Maureen! The sun rises in the east and sets in the west... you can be sure of two things in life: death and taxes... and Maureen will always be Maureen! Romney is president of white male America As in other cases, to avoid the NYT log-in, copy and paste the URL: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/11/opinion/sunday/dowd-romney-is-president.html into Google.com and click the first hit. Excerpt: 'Team Romney has every reason to be shellshocked. Its candidate, after all, resoundingly won the election of the country he was wooing. Mitt Romney is the president of white male America. Maybe the group can retreat to a man cave in a Whiter House, with mahogany paneling, brown leather Chesterfields, a moose head over the fireplace, an elevator for the presidential limo, and one of those men’s club signs on the phone that reads: “Telephone Tips: ‘Just Left,’ 25 cents; ‘On His Way,’ 50 cents; ‘Not here,’ $1; ‘Who?’ $5.”' When it comes to indulging in stereotyping, does anyone beat "Mean Maureen"? But really, if she were anything other than herself, what could we be certain of in this life? She's like a lighthouse in a storm, the North Star, or maybe a bit like old Archie Bunker: Bigoted and insufferable, but somehow lovable all the same. Well, maybe not lovable. But reliable. Predictable. Just like Archie, you can always count on Maureen to say exactly what you know she'll say next.
