New resource will try to help close state's college gender gapArticle here. Excerpt: 'SALT LAKE CITY — Education officials want to close the gap between male and female college degree earners in Utah and are hoping the Utah Women and Education Initiative and its newly launched website will provide a path to achievement. The initiative's director, Mary Ann Holladay, said this step is a continuation of a task force convened by Gov. Gary Herbert in 2011, which looked at the barriers women encounter in pursuing college degrees. Utah has the worst gender gap in the country for post-secondary degree earners, and officials say closing that gap is key to achieving Herbert's Prosperity 2020 goal of 66 percent of Utah's workforce holding a post-secondary degree or certification by the year 2020.'

The gap is only a problem if...
... it's on the female side of the equation, as it is locally in Utah. If it's a problem as it is nationally on the male side, well then, it's called "progress".
Progress, Feminist Style
Feminism's idea of progress is simple - reduce males' participation and achievement in any given field and increase the females'. This is to be pursued not only until equality is achieved, but beyond that point. Once the desired outcome is achieved - with females forming the majority in education, for example - they then proclaim women being the majority as evidence of women's innate superiority. This is feasable to them because women's favourable outcomes were reached under the auspices of feminism - whos guiding principal is one of "equality". This is then used to argue that any such affirmative action for men is undesirable, since this would challenge the "equality" achieved under feminism. This is also used to argue that since women are already "better" than men it would be unfair to give favourable treatment to men because men's less favourable achievments or outcomes aren't the result of "sexism" (which can never happen under feminism remember) but of women's natural superiority, a natural superiority which needed the help of feminism to bring to its full potential.
And so there we have it. Equality, feminist style. Enjoy.
