Professionals Say More Men Should Earn College DegreesArticle here. Excerpt: 'In recent years, the number of women earning college degrees has vastly increased. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, women earned the majority of almost all levels of degrees in 2008-2009 across various racial and ethnic groups. Additionally, the Council of Graduate Schools found that in 2008-2009, about 50.4% of doctoral degrees were awarded to women, marking the first time females have earned the majority of these credentials, The New York Times reports. "Autor said men who do not
"Autor said men who do not earn a proper education are more likely to be incarcerated and less likely to get married. Richard Murnane, an economist at Harvard University's Graduate School of Education, agreed with Autor, saying men who do not earn a college degree are more likely to have a lower income. For this reason, they may find it more difficult to sustain a marriage."
Yeah, because even in today's day and age, with women getting better degrees, men are still viewed mainly as ATMs, and if the ATM doesn't have a lot of cash, why not get rid of it?
I'll never understand why there are 5 times as many female-only scholarships as male ones, if women are doing so much better than men in higher education. It's like reverse affirmative action.
