Oh, Danica... why did you?

News You know, I wasn't sure whether to post this link or not. She is a great pro IRL driver; there is no reason at all for her to start peddling her femaleness/looks as a commodity in this fashion.

Next time a feminist tells you women do this sort of thing because "they have to", send them the link. 'Danica the Pro Racer' had absolutely no reason, except perhaps vanity or insecurity, to start being being 'Danica the SI Model'. Sad, really.

Frankly, I am just tired of hearing about Danica, period.
She doesn't even win the damned race but she gets more coverage than the man who DID win, just because she's a woman.

The media; "We're not biased."

Me; YES you ARE!

(I have enough aggravation.)

I don't follow Danica or racing, but it's kinda silly to suggest that she shouldn't try to capitalize on her 15 minutes of fame to land some lucrative fashion endorsements in the fashion industry, her "other passion."

She may never win the BIG RACE, so she needs to intelligently hedge her bets.

The Sports Illustrated photos were boringly tame, and the girl clearly does not have a model's physique. (They would have shown more if there actually was more, but there ain't.)

She loves Italian shoes, which is good, because her feet appear to be her sexiest feature.

All that clutching, I guess.

Danica is entitled to whatever she can get, fairly, in the free market.

That being said, can 1 in 1000 people tell you who Dan Wheldon is? The man that tore up the record books last season in IRL? Didn't think so...

Don't ever let the hype-meisters (mistresses), not to exclude the press, David Letterman, etc. ever pontificate again about the purity/ideals of the sport. The hype in sports was already eroding much that is noble about sports. This is simply the latest chapter.

Danica Patrick is a race car driver, here in the U.S. She's not a bad driver (not a real good one either) but because she is "A woman in a male dominated field" the media, because they are EXTREAMLY politically correct, fall all over each other to see who can make the biggest fuss and biggest deal out of her.
Like I said in an earlier post, I don't even KNOW who won this year's race. But Patrick who came in sixth place, or something, got nearly all the attention from the press. Hell, the rest of the racers shouldn't have even bothered to show up. No one NOTICED them. It all just became the "Danica Patrick show".
And, you're right, Bert, Who the F#@k cares?
No one that I know of cares. Only the "liberal", politically correct, feminist-run media seems to care.
No one else does.
I know I don't.

Thundercloud, I visited the site and I must say she isn't even a beauty, I've seen them better. Another thing, nobody ever heard of her on this side of the big pond, so I guess she is a local celebrity. Hell, we all are local celebrities, in my hometown even the feminazis know who I am.

O, and I definitely do look better than DAMNica.

"... so I guess she is a local celebrity."

Not quite yet.

Danica is a local COMMODITY trying to become a local CELEBRITY.

Kinda like the town slut who wants to be the prom queen.

If she's already targeting fashion endorsements, that suggests she has arrived at a realistic understanding of her driving skills.

"Looking good" maybe more profitable in the long run than "driving well."
