The Revolution is Revolting
posted by Matt on 12:25 PM May 23rd, 2006
Inequality Anonymous User writes "A NY Times article from Sunday covered the 'revolution' of women entering male dominated fields/jobs.

On making men "understand the female perspective":

"'I sent one of my managers out to buy a pair of size 12 high-heeled pumps at Payless,' recalls Mary Sipes, the vehicle line director for full-size sport utility vehicles at General Motors. Then she had male engineers, dressed in skirts, heels and press-on fingernails, use the cars they designed."

Hat tip to Broadsheet for noticing the story."

Oh, and they would be ruined in their career field.

This is such utter sexist utter bullshit.

I'm sorry, but I have to say it.

Of course no feminists want to talk about THAT do they?

I am an equal opportunity thinker; if you qualify, you should not be denied based on sex, race, etc. However, I'm also a realist. On average, there are and always will be (short of genetic re-engineering) physical and psychological differences between the sexes that give advantage to one or the other. Men, on average, have better spatial skills; something the sciences demand. Women have better verbal skills; the gift of gab. Men, on average, are 6" taller and have more upper body strength that women. Certainly there are the occasional exceptions to the rule; masculine women and feminine men.

Some argue sex differences are small and inconsequential. If that's the case, why do women tie off from shorter distances at the golf course? Over time, even small differences become relevant. Let's take the example of driving a golf ball. Women, on average, drive golf balls 75% shorter than men; the average drive for a man is about 200 yards. Let's have an average female and average male drive a ball from the men's tie. After the first drive, the man is 50 yards ahead. Now let's have them tie off from where they landed. After 10 drives the man is 500 yards ahead and on, and, on...

Should every occupation be staffed equally with males and females based on the exception? I think not. Would the police and fire departments be as effective if they were staffed 50% with average framed women and average framed men? How about the marines or other jobs that demand the upper body strength and assertiveness more evident in males on average. It never ceases to amaze me how often people take the exception and try to play it off as the rule.

P.S. It wouldn't surprise me if her mind is un-receptive to any information contrary to her misguided beliefs!

Wanna see a gallery of professional Manginas?

Check out the roster for Danika Patrick’s pit team. Management team. (Lotta girlie-girls on the P.R. team…. Big surprise!)

Because if Danika can win, her vagina-identity becomes a billion-dollar endorsement bank!

And I’ll bet that 99% of the investors in Danikasvagina.com are men.

What does this tell you?

Other than that racing fans are mostly interested in their future investment portfolios?

And that men who want to make bank off of a talented female are well beyond letting feminism affect their capitalistic instincts.

And, to give credit where it's due .... this girl can DRIVE! (But she's having a clutching problem....)

Danika has been elevated to a very special place.

A pimpless female talent who can actually do it on her own. (With a full billion-dollar back-up squad of men who are engineering her predictable success...)

Because there will be only ONE GIRL in the car!

What I find amazing is that the author seems to actually believe (as many feminists do) that men "created" the world just to make it difficult for women. Is that paranoid or what?
