News Seems Belarusian police think women are not as responsible for law-breaking than men. While at once anyone not being hauled off for the "crime" of objecting peacably to election results is a good thing, it isn't good that only some people seem to be worthy of this indulgence over others for no other reason than the content of their pants. Article here. It closes with:

According to an opposition presidential candidate who arrived at the square, all the women were allowed to leave.

So, I guess it's not so bad then, right? Wrong.

There just might be a lesson here. The government there is being accused of oppression and totalitarianism. But, they showed deference to the Women that were protesting. Just like here. Be nice to the Women and you can get away with almost anything? Naw, it can't be that simple can it? It just might be though.......

Writing such a post based on a single sentence in an article isn't such a good idea, especially while events are still unfolding.
This source here says women had been detained, but many of them were released at the police station:
