Miracle plant? (Score:2)

OK, "Miracle plant" is far too much to claim. But peppers have been used for a long time as herbal treatments, and modern research has verified many of the traditional medical claims. It's worth remembering that many modern medicines are plant extracts.

This article from the University of Maryland Medical Center has some good information on cayenne pepper and capsaicin. Some herbalists maintain that, if a person is going to add just one herbal supplement to the diet, it should be cayenne pepper.

If you don't like hot food, you can take cayenne pepper in gel caps. I've taken them a lot and never had any burning, because the caps dissolve in the digestive tract.
