Plan USA Follows in Amnesty International's Footsteps
posted by Matt on 10:33 PM March 6th, 2006
Boys/Young Men Recently Plan USA started a new campaign: Give a girl child an equal chance. Recent recipients of donation reminders face a well-directed solicitation for this new program on the back of their remittance envelopes.

If you feel so inclined, contact them at: DonorRelations-at-planusa.org or 800-556-7918 and let them know what you think of their highly selective vision regarding the well-being of children. May I suggest sending them facts about the state of boys and men in the world and remind them of the many ways in which males die at alarmingly (for some anyway) higher rates than females in all sorts of contexts and for many reasons that are a direct expression of how they are perceived, treated, and USED, simply due to their maleness.

I was just wondering if this wasn't another CIA backed program like the Peace Corps was? Very slick presentation, and I bet they get all kinds of intellectuals to take vacations for them and get information without even knowing it. I wrote the donation site. Maybe if enough People do they won't discriminate as to the gender of the Child. As an aside it really sounded like a recruitment poster for wealthy intellectual Women that have time and money on their hands. It would be really interesting to see their real books, and membership roles. Just a thought Folks....

"Millions of sex-selective abortions are performed in poor countries annually, virtually always on female fetuses."

The lucky males who are chosen to live have the special privilege of slaving for the parents (and government) in the official role of family mule. Male children are selected, because of the extra manual labor parents and governments can get out of them in the fields, etc.

Amnesty International has a big campaign against FGM (female genital mutilation) but refuses to acknowledge MGM as an issue. They have no credibility so far as I'm concerned. Same old same old.
