Colombia town requires all men to carry condoms
posted by Matt on 01:32 PM January 11th, 2006
News Anonymous User writes "I suppose this law applies even to men that are not sexually active. Also, carrying a condom is not the same as USING a condom, but this point is naturally lost on the stupid people behind this law."

Women are just as responsible for condoms (Score:1)

Women can carry condoms at least as easily as men can, and they can say no to unprotected sex just as easily as a man can. They are equally responsible. This is just plain misandry. Do they also mandate that women carry morning after pills?

What I find most interesting about this is that the local priest is upset with the law. He says that education and christian values will save the day. If anyone takes the time to research the rolls of wellfare in this country they will find that one of the largest contributors to those rolls was Catholics. Now I am not going to theorize why that is, but I find it interesting none the less. The law should be that anyone over the age of 15 carries a condom, as it is not only the Males responsibility to prevent unwanted Children, but the Female as well. Let us not forget AIDS, if it continues to grow People will start dying as fast as they procreate. Which of course would only lend fuel to the religous fire of having many children raised into our religious beliefs! Survival of the most manipulative........

The last time I checked, human beings could not just reproduce independently. If it takes two to tango, why is only one held responsible? It seems that women have resigned themselves to achieving a childs status. ALL of the legal, ethical and societal rights and protections with none of the messy RESPONSIBILITIES that come with these rights.
