Concord Monitor Reports on Men's Commission Findings
posted by Scott on 12:07 AM November 12th, 2005
News The traditionally anti-male Concord Monitor published a glowing article on the findings of the New Hampshire Commission on the Status of Men's first biennial report. Mentioning all of the issues the Commission reported on, the article is a decent summary of the 44-page report.

There are just a couple of errors in this article I wanted to clear up:

1. The Education section actually said nothing directly about the self-esteem of boys, although one could reasonably infer this from the fact that boys are not as engaged with their eduacation.

2. VAWA is a federal law, not a state one, so the recommendation is actually on the federal level, which is mostly symbolic.

I'm almost in disbelief that this article was so positive. The Concord Monitor has been a sounding board for opponents of the Commission and pro-father legislation for years. I guess the right person got assigned to cover this story. I'm grateful.

I suggest we forward this article to each of our respective state elected officials asking why our state doesn't have a commission like this.

Kenny is a character from a cartoon TV show called "SOUTH PARK". The writers of the show seem to get a sadistic kick out of killing poor little Kenny every episode. (I don't watch it because of that. But then I am called "overly sensitive" by some friends and family)
Anyway, when ever Kenny gets killed, the other characters say; "Oh, my God! They killed Kenny!" followed by; "You Bastards!"
What it has to do with this discussion, I have no idea. I think it is just some one having some fun with us and being silly.
On the other hand, They could be trying to make a point that while a lot of people think it is "funny" to depict an 8 year old boy getting killed over and over again, NO ONE would be laughing if the character was an little 8 year old girl. Or maybe I'm just reading too much into it, I don't know.

Thanks for the clarifications Scott.

Great article. I will be sending links to both to the Delegate we have in Maryland who is interested in helping us get something going. These should be a big help to him in selling the idea to his colleagues.

Great stuff.

This is a small but significant victory in that the paper has a history of misandry as we have been told.

And the tricky thing about victories is that they have to be followed up on or they soon fade.

If this paper has an letters from the readers section it would be a good power move to write them and congratulate them on their progressive reporting on the report from the Commission and reminding them of their past unprogressive history on the subject of men's rights.
