As usual they left out the part where men are saying that they are tired of the way males are depicted in most of today's movies. We are sick of seeing ourselves portrayed as neutered pea-brained sots. We are tired of seeing men being punched, kicked or shot in the genitals. We are sick of seeing 95 pound women kicking the snot out of 205 pound men. We are sick of the anti-male pro-female political agenda that is rammed down our throats in most movies. And we are sick of the same tired old message that men are evil abusers of women who sit around in tank tops, swilling beer and watching football. And we are tired of the message that men are inferior to women.
They also fail to mention that male viewership is down for Television as well, for much the same reasons male movie attendance is.

Oh well. Maybe SOME day they'll get it. But right now they apparently do NOT.
Or they DO get it, but they just don't want to face the facts. That would mean that they would have to completely change. And, personally, I don't think these misandrists are yet willing to reverse their anti-male propaganda.

Thundercloud, it would be worth having a look at that Mallard Fillmore comic that someone linked to a few days back. It's just not "PC" to highlight the blatantly obvious fact that boys and men are being turned off movies and that this is the reason for the drop. Why draw a conclusion when it doesn't support the "conventional wisdom"? It's no coincidence that the "conventional wisdom" is a dinosaur in the strip...

actually, I tried to view that strip, but It wouldn't load for me.
However I am familiar with Mallard Fillmore. I have read it from time to time. Some times I agree with it, some times I don't.
My bet is, though, that I would probably agree, in the case of this particular installment.

If you have security software it may not allow the strip to show.
Just a guess.

There is a really good interview with the author of this strip (Bruce Tinsley) on David Howowitz's website today: www.frontpagemag.com. It is pretty darn funny.

Every time one of these articles turns up about American media, be it TV, movies, music, or whatever, I ALWAYS get in touch with the outfit that ran the research and tell them exactly what the hell (I think) is going on.

And I NEVER get a reply. They have their own agenda, and they're simply not listening.

If someone launched a movie studio and distribution outfit that I felt confident was going to produce and distribute films and video that portrayed men as they are instead of what Hollywood and the feminists THINK they are or THINK they should be, I'd be quite happy to invest (not that I have much...)

Let me get this Straight. First They turn Alexander the Great into a Version of Queer Eye For The Straight Guy and wonder why Straight Men don't flock to it. Now if there had been alot of nude scenes with Angelina Jolie maybe I would have gone. Maybe. Content is not what Men are interested in watching. Turn all the Actors into Homos and the Men into PWhipped Wusses taking orders from Chicks kicking their asses. What a crock and you get NO MALE AUDIENCE. Let Hollyweird Go Broke.

Take Hot Actresses Like Charlize Theron to make two misandric movies portraying Men as abusers. Guess what I just added her to my list of Actresses whose Movies I will boycott. Along with Ms. Sarandon and Ashley Judd. Ashley Judd who marched in an Abortion rights march and said those men who attended would be safe. I will remember that when the Moslem Radicals hit America Next. Ashley your are on your own Bitch.

I wonder what the viewership was.
At the very least I doubt many (sensible) people, both male and female watched it.
I know I didn't.

Mr. Khankrumthebulgar, you just made my day. My wife rented Alexander the Grape and I did the husbandly thing and watched it with her. Not even all of the arrow pierced heads and lopped off limbs could make me give that movie a sideways thumb. As I watched in disbelief at how Mr. Grape kicked his wife out of the bedroom for Mr. Queer Eye I thought, "It must be a Macedonian thing". Can we see some more blood letting now? Angelina Jolie is a mighty fine looking lady but I had a hard time imagining any woman who could raid a tomb, beat up plenty of men, surf through an ice cave and come out on the other side with perectly coiffed hair and nary a hangnail. Must be vag power, all 750 horses. When I think about her showing up in the ring on that TV show called "The ultimate fight game" (I think), did it ever cross my mind that the guy she faced would be taking a canvas nap? Well, maybe if Hollis P. Wood offered him a part in the next Tomb Raider.

It seems that all the girl power, groin kicking, depictions of men/boys as inferior and less smart doesn't sell well to the class that is attacked...

Liberal/gay-lesbian/feminist perspective is pervasive either in subtle or overtly in just about everything coming out of hollywood.

I'm glad boys are being proactive about not dealing with the shit anymore.
