Not the Father? Really?
posted by Matt on 07:21 PM October 5th, 2005
Fatherhood frank h writes "Country singer Chris Cagle has had a little bit of disappointing news of late. It seems he is not the father of the baby him and his "girlfriend" were expecting.

OBTW, this morning (10-5-2005), Diane Sawyer had a piece where a non-father was interviewed, along with his (female) lawyer. It seems his ex-wife duped him, and by G-d, the lawyer actually used the term "paternity fraud." I was shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you."

The vampires smell blood. This time it will help us. Paternity fraud is probably already a cottage industry for the undead. In all likelihood, it will soon be a major source of income.

Chris Cagle could be someone the movement has been waiting for. Potentially, he would make the excellent, high profile spokesman the movement needs (I know that attempts were made to recruit Kirk Kerkorian when he got shafted, but he was not interested). Does anyone know if some of the more prominent in the movement have tried to contact him?

His career is at the upward-bound knee of the curve. I suspect he would be hesitant to be overt. On the other hand, there's much he could do by recording a song or two that expresses sympathy for those in his shoes, or, for example, a father who stays with an abusive wife in order to protect his children. (but I'm not much of a songwriter)
