Violence Against Women - Australia Says No
posted by Matt on 02:17 PM July 30th, 2005
Domestic Violence Anonymous User writes "Well the "Violence Against Women - Australia Says No" campaign from last year has resurfaced its ugly head here in Australia again. We are being bombarded with misandrist commericals here that protray men as the ugly perpertartors/rapist/abusers and women as helpless victims at their mercy."

"Here is an article on the campaign.

Here (.pdf file) are the complaints about the commerical being dismissed last year.

Do you think they'd take the complaints any more seriously this year?"

Don't complain to the "authorities". They're all male-haters. Complain to your friends, neighbors, etc. Once people recognize what's going on, these adverts become a reminder of the male-haters' tactics.

Why don't the men's activists in Australia start their own campaign - "Violence against men: Australia says no"?

office for the status of women is a government department: i.e., paid for out of my pocket. I shouldn't have to pay twice to get the same services that women do.

OK then, do nothing, dumbass. Then when they throw you out of your own home, deny you contact with your own children, clear out your bank account and use half of it to fund more of the same while giving the other half to the woman you domestically abused by being three inches taller than her, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that at least you didn't do something the government shoulda done. Men really don't help themselves, do they?!

I think rather than mirror imaging feminist practice, we are better off opposing their misuse of government power to serve their own ends. It's all very well sputtering "dumbass" and pretending that to eschew the same tactics used by feminists is to do "nothing" but it is absurd to think that a government that has access to your pockets and mine could possibly by outdone by a volunteer organisation.

Sheesh, and take a fucking chill pill.
