Why on earth would a book seller put up the worst review first, and put their name on it? You would think selling books would be their fist concern, thus a good review would be put in the spotlight. It makes one think there may be other reasons for this placement, which sounds paranoid.

I think you are seeing things which are not there.

One review of this book is focusing on the literary aspect of the novel while the other is focused more on the sexual abuse that happened to John Irving.

Both are good reviews. In fact, a man choose to focus on the writing aspect of the novel while a woman choose to focus on the human background of the author.

Nothing wrong here.

As of editor putting their name on the review, it is a common practice by "reviewer" to include the name of the editing house, the price and sometimes the ISBN as information to their readers.
