I am still bemused at the change in the last 10-15 years whereby the spouses of elected officials can make political comments or suggestions and they are reported uncritically in the press.
Here in the UK, Cherie Blair (the PM's wife)is a respected top lawyer, but she frequently crosses the boundary into making political speeches which are then reported as such. It's even caused some embarrassment to Tony Blair.
These people are NOT elected representatives, and the fact that our press salivates over their "suggestions" is purely down to them being female. I can't wait to see how much fawning and political airtime is given to the first male with no political experience who happens to be married to a female president.
I won't hold my breath....

You never heard much about Margaret Thatcher's husband. What's his name?

The way things are now, I doubt I'd even vote for a female presidential candidate.
Some years (read decades) ago I might have. And maybe sometime in the distant future when it isn't so acceptable to hate and discriminate against men in every possible way, I might vote for one, but certainly not NOW.
Thundercloud.
"Hoka hey!"

Never vote for a female no matter what. Giving them power and privlege was the problem in the first place.
