Girls Outperform Boys from Day One
posted by Matt on 06:44 PM May 16th, 2005
Boys/Young Men Tirryb writes "News.com.au reports that a study of 10,000 children from birth age up has shown that girls outperform boys almost from day 1, learning to walk and talk earlier. Quote: "Boys lead girls in every measure of disengagement and psychological disorder from attention deficit syndromes to at-risk social behaviour. The latest neuro-imaging research has identified gender differences in brain maturation, with boys slower to develop impulse control and executive planning skills. Although boys and girls are parented in a similar fashion, levels of hostile parenting were higher for boys than girls." So given this evidence, what does the (female) federal Minister for Family and Community Affairs say? "I have consistently said that children are better off in a household where both parents have a job," she said...."

and then she said... "i will make her a helper, a man from her rib...."

i always knew i was dumber than most women. now i understand why... we've been being fooled all along. women are just so much better than men... it's a wonder why they let us sleep in the house.

and by the way, why did they need a study to tell us that dumb parents rear dumb children...usually? unloving parents rear unloving brats? and under confident parents raise under confident children? i could have told them that for a lot less money...
and i'm just a dumb guy.

This is far more of a gender inflamatory comment then Larry Summers at Harvard made about females having certain innate gender traits so maybe those man-hating bigots at Harvard can come up with a solution to this, along with another 50 million dollars over the next decade.

The double standards discriminating aginst men these days are just unbelievable.

Instead of over-reacting and feeling defensive as many men would, knowing that "girls perform better"..let's step back for a moment and look at what the article really seems to be saying: someone (or group of people) is finally acknowledging that THE WAY BOYS ARE RAISED seems to be a major influence in causing the problems mentioned. It is true there is one statement about brain developement, but really I think the message is that something needs to be corrected about the way parenting of boys is done, i.e. acknowledging that boys' deficiencies may be socialized. After all many women over the years have used the "socialization" thing to defend their behavior. At least now it may be seen that this applies to men too, which in one sense is really kind of an equalization of the playing field.
Sorry if this goes against the flow here, that is only my opinion.

It's not over reacting, when you consider the pampering women get in America through the over 270 women's commissions, and over 700 women's studies programs with tens of thousands of classes all pushing policies and laws that are female friendly and anti-male. It is not over reacting to say, "Fine, here's another study that insults males, because we know no solution (funding) will be provided to help any deficiency a male has. From past gender feminist, societal modus operandi all indications are it's just one more club that will be used to beat males over the head.

Hi Ray,
thanks for responding to my post and I agree with your statements, except that I hope that using the study only to beat men over the head will not occur; that instead the study will be used to improve the education and parenting of boys.
By the way, as I mentioned in another post, which also applies here, is that it sounds to me like these "studies" showing girls are superior have all of a sudden popped soon after Mr. Summers' statements (coincidence?). So in that sense women's groups are trying denigrate men in this case..which is odd, because they accuse Summers of making biased statements, then they "respond" by making even MORE biased statements of their own!!!

One thing I have always wondered about these types of studies (boys vs girls) is that when girls perform better, then story concludes they must be smarter. However when boys do better it is because we are dominating the classrooms and not allowing the girls to learn. It doesn't matter what the result of the studies show, the goal is always to get girls to perform better. Right now women groups throw out false statistics to show that women only earn .75 for every dollar a man makes. Eventually they will pass enough laws to where men only earn .75 cents for every dollar a woman makes, and then they will tell us it is because women work harder. Give me a break.
