Women's Worth?
posted by Matt on 06:02 PM May 3rd, 2005
The So-called Wage Gap Dittohd writes "I have a solution to this problem of women's housework being worth so much and them not being paid. All women who have husbands who are paid less than the $131,000 computed worth of women's childcare and housework should go out into the workforce and earn that money. We stupid, lowly paid men should be required by law, in these cases, to stay home. I wonder how much our worth would be computed at once we started staying home with our children?"

First of all the old adage is "A womans work is never done" not a mothers.

their computations forget that NO ONE... gets 60 hours of overtime on a 40 hour week!!!!! in fact, if i was the one supporting such a situation i would hire a second person and split the time... in fact hiring a 3rd or fourth and keeping them part time would work out better as i would get more variety in my bed.

then there is such bullshit comments as
I am giving 150 percent of myself!
shows you what fucking morons they are.. for men actually give 600 percent working for them!!! oh yes... in general our larger size allows us to appear like 6 people to her 1.5 people...

and please.. if you are so lucky to stay home then pay me for creating that priveledge!!!! you cant have it both ways...
a 100 hour work week in a job you love so much you dont care if you get paid!!!

they are so out of whack as a person - her base pay is more than 800 a week! i am sorry but for less than half of that i can get a mexican national or au pair that will do a BETTER job!!! (for the most part)... in fact.. i can get more than one, and may even have enough left over for lawn care... so this salary thing has no bearing on any reality....

i would like to see an article that shows that the man works his 60 hour week (on average)... and how he runs a landscapping service, bodyguard, car repair, shuttle, maintenance, etc... given that and done the same way i would bet that its more like 300,000 on his side... why? because those jobs HE does for 'free' are worth more on the open market. just bodyguard alone would make it a high salary!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not to mention that the work HE does has no intrinsic reward like being lucky enough to be with his kids. his reward is that as long as he can earn, him she might not burn!

Why are men paying women alimony and child support if the average woman has the worth in the market place of $131,000 per year?

I think this figure should be institutionalized in divorce law and all women who don't support their children by earning at least this amount should be jailed just like men currently are when we men can't meet our child support obligations.

Furthermore, why are men paying alimony and child support to women who are worth so much more in the marketplace than we are. From here on, women should be responsible for paying us alimony and child support.

I'd like to have one of those green Orion alien chicks from Star Trek.
They'd be much better than most earth chicks.

Not really.
I'm a bit of a Star Trek fan, and if I'm not mistaken the Orion females produce a pheromone that over rides a man's sensibilities and makes him do what ever the female Orion wants. On the Orion's planet the females are "sold" into "slavery" but even the men of the Orion must basicaly do the female's bidding.
We have virtualy the same thing here on earth. Only we call it MARRIAGE...!
