The Rantings of a Single Male
posted by Matt on 06:42 PM April 2nd, 2005
Book Reviews JustSayNo writes "I like to read in the evening after dinner, but usually after a full day of work, doing dinner and helping with homework, I usually drift off 15 minutes after opening a book.

Not so with Thomas Ellis' new book, The Rantings of a Single Male. Not so by a mile! I got the book Thursday, read two-thirds of it by midnight, and gobbled up the rest of it Friday evening.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough to everyone on this list. I promise you that you will not be disappointed. In fact, I guarantee that you will be hugely entertained.

Click "Read more..." for more.

And that entertainment value is why I think that Ellis’ book may very well be The Book That Changes Everything.

I don't say that lightly. I know the ignorance that we're up against, but I think that the real genius of this book is that it delivers a devastatingly accurate message in a hugely entertaining way, all the while managing to “deconstruct feminism”. Ellis successfully tears to shreds the lies, the distortions and the pathology that is feminism … and does it with a cutting humor and scathing satire equal to that of Mark Twain, Will Rogers or any of America’s other great humorists. Mr. Ellis gives Western women the “equality” that they've asked for and so richly deserve.

While only a relatively few motivated individuals will ever take the time to read the “academic” books about feminism to learn about the evil that feminism has become, Ellis has written a book that even unmotivated and “clueless” individuals will – I hope – gobble up. THIS book has the potential to tear the Lace Curtain to shreds.

Please pardon the closing, but I’m sure Mr. Ellis would appreciate it: In my humble opinion, Thomas Ellis is a fucking genius!

Read the book. You’ll understand.

PS. Does anyone on this list know Mr. Ellis or how I might be able to contact him? I want to buy a few hundred copies of his book... no kidding.

I don't know him personally, but he posts on this board using his initials, TLE.

I strongly suspect he'll see your message. I know where he lives, but I have no idea as to whether or not he'd want it given out over such a public forum considering all the crazies that abound in this world, especially of the feminazi gender.

smart move dittohd.... remember what happened to andy warhol! now look at what happened to the woman that shot him... Can you say "Valerie Solanas" and "SCUM Manifesto" or "Society for Cutting Up Men"? note that you can still buy her work today...

Note that she was the only member of S.C.U.M.

no... i dont think that it would be wise to let someone who wrote something that "has the potential to tear the Lace Curtain to shreds"

Huh? Did you, by mistake, hit the submit button in the middle of the sentence? :-]

Wow! I just read about Valerie and Andy Warhol and parts of her long venomous manifesto. I challenge anyone to make it through the whole thing! That garbage is really hard to read! For anyone who wants to give it a shot,

here it is.

Man o man! I wonder what happened to her to make her so unbelievably, irrationally, and totally bitter towards all men. But then, maybe there's no explanation. Maybe she was just completely mentally sick, sick, sick!

I haven't been able to get through it, there's only so much stupidity the brain can take before melting out of the ears.

Ya know, I honestly wonder how much completely weird man-hating [such as Solanos] is actual mental illness - I don't think it's impossible, the painter Edvard Munch [The Scream] had a fear of women that put him in an asylum for two years - I don't know if it was ever attributed to one event or person, just a paranoia that focused on women. But nowadays, a paralyzing fear of men that's "all in the head" is attributed to the "the evils of men" and such women are free to go about ranting and raving against men.

I was reading some of that book today, and found it entertaining and insightful reading. It's written in a style that's user friendly.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest.

Such high praise. I'm not worthy! I really appreciate the great review and kind words. I'm enjoying them while I can, because I suspect that as soon as word gets out, there will be quite a few 1-star reviews from feminists who have no intention of ever reading the book.

Yeah, there are crazies out there, but you know what? There are men facing real danger every day in places Afghanistan and Iraq, so I can't get too excited about harassment from a few radical fems. I can be contacted directly at tomellis @ austin.rr.com

I can certainly give you a better price by cutting out Amazon. If you really want more than a hundred books, I'll have to do another printing. But then, there are a few typos in the book I want to fix, and another printing would afford me that opportunity.

Cheers,
Tom

That's a good sign!

And TLE, I too would be interested in cutting Amazon out and paying a lower price. I live overseas ind shipping out here is not cheap.

Kyo, order it direct (still Amazon) from the "used and new" section from RannenbergPubs, which is me. Select the cheapest shipping to keep your cost low. I'll upgrade the shipping to something faster myself. Are you in Japan?

I think it's just the ordering off of Amazon that my parents don't really like. I don't think my mum and especially my dad would care that I was reading a book that was debunking female ignorance. My dad would probably actually feel very proud of me.
