Getting a men's movement started is like herding cats. Growing a men's movement is even harder. I would suggest that perhaps the first things we should analyze are those things that continue to fragment us a cohesive unit, but that would likely be a very long list. We all have our special interests (Father's rights, false accusations, paternity fraud, sexual harassment, child custody, etc.) and our preferred methodologies (writing, protesting, educating, advocating, etc.) NCFM appears to be the most all encompassing group addressing the most issues, and their are other excellent groups like ACFC that share a lot of "common ground," but we have yet to make "the men's movement" a well defined household word. The men's movement's public activism is definitely anemic so we don't get a lot of press there. The effort by individual writers has been a promising bright spot, but it pales in comparison to the avalanche of main stream media touting the gender feminist perspective. Our legislative efforts have had some successes, but also pale in comparison to gender feminist efforts. Some are quick to point out the G. Fem's. have had 30+ years, but we don't have that much time if we want to stop the horrific criminalizing of males any time soon.
I'm not a marketing person, and money is a problem for us all, and the media often turns a blind eye to us, but marketing is what our issues really need so the public becomes more aware and subsequently more active. Some have validly pointed out fund raising should be paramount. That is a valid issue too, but remains hard to prioritize highly when human suffering keeps showing up on our activist doorsteps on a daily basis. How do we make more and more people care about the rights of males? Does it take a "Fox's Book of Martyrs" type book to chronicle the historical abuse of untold men whose lives have been horribly destroyed by gender feminist hatred and bigotry against men? Does it take that kind of a book to chronicle the G-fems evil alter ego, exploiting the disposability of the chivalrous male provider/defender?
The sad truth that is evident from the lack of caring given to men's issues by society is that men’s roles are acceptable as is and therefore their disposability is acceptable in the eyes of society at large. Women have counted on the acceptability of "male disposability" throughout history. When gender feminists took it up several notches, and started exploiting that acceptance by finding more and more ways to use men to enhance female privileges (as in use and discard men) it was just accepted. The G-fems explanation of "male privilege" as the excuse for their agenda makes no effort to show the real cost, the sacrifice, for what men have historically worked to build (families/civilization).
F4J has made some real inroads in England in a short period of time, but such tactics are very dangerous in America. F4J's successes point to the need to have a sound media marketing strategy for all men's issues. What are the exact images to be marketed? What is image of the male that is to be projected? Is he oppressed, disenfranchised, abused, isolated, wounded, disrespected? Is today’s male the victim of oppressors who falsely portray him as empowered? Is his physical power just a resource that is exploited and used up until nothing is left for anyone? Is he so devoid of humanity he should be considered just an animal to be discarded like a goldfish, when he ceases to amuse? Is the male soul so depraved and without value that his every behavior should be deemed unacceptable by empowered feminist misandry and subsequently criminalized. Is the male intellect so low that women's studies professors, women's commissions and their lobbyists must legislate what a man should and should not be at every juncture of a male’s existence? Must males subscribe to the evil gender feminist model for men based on what G-fems dictate we are?
It seems to me that there should be huge numbers of men passionately presenting their outrage to the public on highways and byways across America, but the sad reality is that men are impeded at every turn from having an effective venue within which to present a multitude of valid grievances that are cruelly destroying them. Individual exhaustion could even be high on the list of those things that impede us (nothing left to give). Perhaps we showed make EMPOWERING MEN the theme of this years Men’s Rights Conference.
I suspect it is no coincidence, that as we speak, a methamphetamine epidemic is destroying the very heartland of this country. It appears more and more men having nothing left to give, are growing increasingly desperate to get just a little more to meet all the obligations and responsibilities. Just add it to the list of male grievances to be dealt with.
Sincerely, Ray

"we should analyze are those things that continue to fragment us a cohesive unit, but that would likely be a very long list. "
Basically, it seems men are genetically programmed to take refuge in racist/religious/ethnic/nationalist bunkers and engage in battle with men in the opposing bunkers. In the corridors of the UN, women of all nationalities/religons/ethnicities happily meet and formulate strategies to destroy "their men". No chance that men will ever do this. Men are programmed to destroy other men in defense of "their women". If men attempt to unite, it's all too easy for women to press the right buttons and trigger men's gangster instincts i.e. the instinct to gang up with other men to do battle with other gangs of men.
