The Media Well, didn't we just have to expect it? Here it is, gang. Surprised it took them this long, actually.

Given the scale of the disaster, it is remarkable that only isolated examples of crime have emerged so far.
Give 'em a few more days.

And in Sri Lanka, some of the disaster victims have allegedly been raped in refugee camps.
I don't doubt it for a femtosecond.

One of the most disturbing allegations is that criminal gangs are befriending children orphaned by the tsunami, and selling them to sex traffickers.
Again, not a moment's doubt. If it can be reliably determined that individuals are guilty; shoot them. Unfortunately, we can't trust our friggin' governments.

"I don't think you could have a more vulnerable child on Earth than a child in this situation,"
Probably true.

There are reports that a 12-year-old Swedish boy injured in the tsunami in Thailand may have been kidnapped from a hospital.

The boy's American father flew to Thailand to find him. But although staff said he had been there the day after the disaster, there was no longer any trace of him.

I can't begin to imagine the suffering of this man or, God help him, possibly of the boy.

In Sri Lanka, the National Child Protection Authority is investigating reports that two girls were sexually abused at a shelter in Galle, and a separate report that another woman was gang-raped.
Again, I harbor little doubt that this is happening.

"There is likely to be a lot of anger around, and this can be taken out on the women,"
PC crap. No doubt, it's taken out on men too.

The tsunami is a disaster of immense proportions. Let's hope that the sicko PC crowd doesn't try to cash in on it too much. On the other hand, let's remember that there are a lot of idiots and sociopaths out there.

My dear wife and I have donated a chunk of dough to the tsunami victims, but we still focus on those who are suffering close to home.

I continue to on CNN and all the news that "there are reports" of orphaned children being kidnapped and sold as sex slaves. Shouldn't that read "there are rumors of"?

How do such rumors get started? One way is that the feminist head of UNICEF, Carol Bellamy gave such a warning in a TV interview as a possibility. Not that even one case has been confirmed. Still, people now think that children are being sold. It's sex slave hysteria.

Yea, CNN has been going on and on about the tsunami and how there are reports of children being exploited, but no one can even confirm or even figure out if it's happening. Unicef is now going to go and regrister each kid who has been orphined or missing to help people find each other. Yet, I get a feeling there is an alterior motive behind their child regristration.

If there is children being kidnapped, then prove it. If you cannot, then stop going on about it.

P.S. Heck I just heard CNN is going to have a special on the tsunami children!

I have my doubts about the "gang rapes". I have a hard time imagining how that could happen. I mean, a guy says "Hey Jimbo, wanna go raping with me tonight?" then 99% of the time Jim will call the cops on him. The concept of the "rape gang" depends on a belief that men in general are willing to rape, and reality is very different. Men in general will do anything to protect women, even those they don't know, from being raped. I've yet to hear a story about a gang rape which proved true. Remember all the satanic gang rape allegations of the 80s? The way the media was pumping it up you'd think 1 in 3 men was in a satanic cult raping women. Well, it turns out none of the women the media found who claimed to have been gang raped by satanists were telling the truth, and satanic cults engaging in such rituals have been proven largely, (if not entirely), mythical.

I see battered women. There everywhere.

Personally, I'm more concerned about the possibility of the sky falling.

The majority of children who will be kidnapped in this window of opportunity will be little boys who are needed for the armies of insurgents or as slaves in the mines or other labour horrors.....the feminazis will ignore or trivialize this of course.
