News OldManSenile writes " Finally, Score one for the good guys and gals. This 20 yr old tried to play the "I'm sorry" cards and got shwacked. The only bad thing is, they never said anything about the father IE... where is he, his feelings, or even if he would have taken the baby so she didn't have to kill the son. Here is the link."

Detlor said in court Monday, "I'm sorry and I know the decisions I've made were wrong. There's no chance this would ever happened again."

Yeah, she is sorry all right; sorry for herself and having to go to prison for about half of the 5 years she was sentenced to. But if she where in Britain she would not only have been found not guilty because of PMS, Post Partum Depression or some other junk medical science diagnosis for women only but she would also receive some type of disablilty check. It isn't that stupid here yet, but it will soon be.

Reading the text of this article is trying to portray her as a victim, and not a murderer.

A Union County judge had little mercy for a 20-year-old woman who killed her newborn son, spending nearly an hour chastising Amy Detlor before he sent her to prison.

Outside, the courtroom her parents seemed stunned. One of them said, "The judge didn't live with her for the last 11 months like we did. She was sorry? Oh yes from day one."

In a mental health report to the court before the sentencing, Detlor apparently admitted to pretty regular drug use for a time. In court, Parrot likened that to a criminal record, though uncharged, and clearly considered it in his decision to send Detlor to prison.

These comments seemed to be trying to push the blame away from herself and onto other things.
