2004 Men's Congress Day One: Big Success!!
posted by Matt on 08:44 PM June 18th, 2004
Announcements I am very glad to announce that Day One of the 2004 Men's Rights Congress was a big success!! Activists from all over the country converged at a church near Capitol Hill to organize and depart for "Lobby Day on the Hill". I can't tell you the great sense of satisfaction and accomplishment that came just from going directly to the seat of legislation and making our case to our senators and Congressmen, or their staffers. Following that, participants made signs and protested in front of the Supreme Court, talking to passers-by, handing out leaflets, and posing for photos taken by tourists and passing media people. From there, we moved on to the Capitol lawn to join fellow protesters for photo ops and to make our presence known there as well. It was a long but very satisfying day. We remained stolidly undaunted in the face of the heat and humidity. :) We all look forward to tomorrow for the second day of the Congress at the Carnegie Endowment for Peace building. Oh yes - photos coming soon!

I was thinking about the Men's Congress all day today in between doing other things, and I'm glad to hear it went well.

On another note, I made some T-shirts for some Paternity Fraud people last week who were protesting at the court house. A few of the men went to Sacramento a few days ago, and as one was standing in the hallway along came Arnold Schrarzenegger, the Govenator. He was surrounded by bodygaurds, but stopped in front of Darrell and asked, "What does it mean?"

Yes, he had just read our infamous, "PATERNITY FRAUD IS DEADBEAT GOVERNMENT" T-shirt front. Darrell explained to the Gov. about paternity fraud, and then the Gov went on his way. The Gov. had just received some brief, but valuable information about paternity fraud.

I think it's great when people can get a message out to the public, or their elected reps, about men's issues, and there are a variety of good legal ways to do that.

Way to go Men's Congress on your first day of hard work in D.C. Thanks for being a voice for all those men who are struggling to survive in a country that has forgotten their rights.

Sincerely, Ray

Some 2000 years ago a forty or fifty year old man in Judea named Josasaph entered into an arranged marriage with a fourteen year old girl. She was already pregnant. Because of a dream that he felt in good faith was an auspicious omen, he raise and loved the boy as his own son anyway. The Roman Catholic Church saw fit to cannonize him as the patron saint of fatherhood.

On behalf of all of the fathers who are now compelled to pay for houses they ar not permitted to enter and for the "support" of children they are not permitted to see. On behalf of the divorced fathers of New Zealand who must wear ski masks when they dare to object to misandrist law enforcement. On behalf of all of the men who face the prospect of fatherhood in a world that thinks it right to deem all men villains...happy Father's Day.

To all of you who made this pilgrimage...HOORAH!!!HORAH!!!HOORAH!!!
