"I keep a list of commercials that offend me..."
Don't lose that list, and do stay in touch. We are an underpowered, but growing group of men who are outraged at the destructive abuses of militant feminism.
We men are in such a fix these days, that many men have had to, figuratively, "chew their own limb off" to escape the cruel, militant feminist agenda so we will never forget the constant lingering reminder we will always have of our unjust pain and humiliation. I say challenge all those who promote or acquiesce to the militant feminist agenda, then challenge them some more.

I think it does NOT get old to point out every commercial that is misandric and for us to write letters. All that has to be inserted is the specifics and the rest can be a cut and past of exactly what you just said.

The progressive insurance ad has drawn a great deal of criticism. The original version was even worse. After the voodoo burning, scissors were used to inflict genital ingury. That scene was cut after a few runs, and in subsequent versions is replaced by the guys head being shrunk.
I have mixed thoughts on the commercial. I'm just old enough to rememember the reruns of the "Dick van Dike show" and "Mayberry." TV in that era is often criticised by liberals as promoting a veiw of life that never existed in reality. With the Altruism of Aunt Bee, those shows painted a glorious image of women. An image which is still fixed in the psyche of many men who persist in the stereotypical notion that women are the "gentler sex" and in need of protection. It's also an image which the militant feminists would like to keep alive, for propaganda purposes at least. Yet, Aunt Bee was only a roll model for one type of women. That's the good thing about this commercial, it shows just how vindictive, vitriolic and spiteful some women can be. Having grown up the younger brother of a radical opertunistic feminist, the unrestrained spite doesn't suprise me. It's something I've always known, yet many men still refuse to accept. Purhaps, this will start to wake men up.

A very astute observation... Given that women have often used advertisments, perceived as sexist, to satisfy course requiremnts in women's studies college classes, perhaps we could take a copy of this Progressive Commercial to a Domestic Violence workshop. There, we could let them explain to us the dynamics of this commercial as they perceive it from their veiwpoint. Very interesting, considering that the domestic violence industry does not see men as victims in any way.

This is Boy Genteel. I have to leave a lot of posts from the library because I'm experiencing tech difficulties at home.
Yes, the Progressive ad (and its ilk) do show women as violent. The problem is that not everyone notices, or views it as violence. I don't think for one moment that most people don't realize that women abuse men in huge numbers; they just don't see it as abuse...

"There is a "voodoo" commercial seemingly aired every 10 minutes by Progressive.com. The supposedly jilted female uses her computer and voodoo to completely humiliate and destroy a guy. I complained to the company about this blatant male bashing and the female's response was that it was a humorous way to sell their product, which is insurance, and that it would continue."
I have complained in the past too as have many others. I think this commercial strongly supports the case that females are "vindictive." We all know they often use false accusations of domestic violence and child abuse as weapons of revenge against men, and now we see that vengeful spirit formally admitted to in this commercial. The reason it is not pulled is because there are just so many naturally vindictive women out there who feel their privilege has been abused by their male slave, that they are buying into Progressives hate speech. Obviously Progressive is making money on this commercial and has a huge base of women customers. Progressive insurance appears to be living proof that sexism is profitable and sells like hot cakes when it is targeted against men.
This commercial also strongly makes the case that women do commit domestic violence. As a woman thinketh in her heart so is she." The irony is, that like this commercial, they just get away with it.
Clearly the commercial is a hate crime against men, but we have gone so far around the corner in empowering abusive women and their ideologies into law, that men are lower than dogs in terms of human rights, or T.V. shows and commercials.
Men are now the politically correct target of hate, thanks to the disinformation and demonization campaigns that have their roots in taxpayer funded women’s studies programs on college campuses. If it’s O.K. there, if they can get away with it there, clearly it will be no problem broadcasting it over the air waves into our homes. Yes, male-hating, male abuse, male bashing, and male battering are today systematically institutionalized into every area of Western society (America, Canada, U.K., Australia, and more). Can you feel the monstrous fundamental feminist hate dripping on your male skull like an alien creature about to devour you, or are the majority of western men just to beaten down, distracted, or obtuse to perceive this, or do anything about this?
How many male slaves have died in Iraq this week, and how many more will come back to this feminist hell to be blamed for violence for having served their country in war?
Sincerely, Ray

==================================================
"Criminal justice data documents (show) that men are more violent than women." R.L. Davis
==================================================
I agree 100% in the factuality of that statement.
From earliest childhood men are conditioned that way. Now that women are increasingly making up elected officials, when they choose not to "opt out," perhaps some day our government can send women to die in wars like they send men. I would have chosen not to go to Vietnam and be a part of the Tet offensive, but I was sent so I went (no choice, choice is a woman's privilege). I really, really wonder about a country that has always sent only men to combat, then blames only men for violence as if it's their birthright. There are no privileged patriarchs in combat, just men. Of course when a woman does show up in the combat stats she gets a lot of press. However, to this day, 99.9% of combat casualties and deaths are men.
But that's O.K. according to women's studies professors, and their ilk in the domestic violence movement, and elsewhere. That's O.K., because according to them "men cause all the wars." Let me repeat that, “men cause all the wars.” One more time, “men cause all the wars.”
Fine, I say, then send women to die in war the next time those bad foreign men fly our planes into our bldgs., and I’ll just sit at home in my rocking chair, and hold down my day job, and oh, maybe go to school and get a law degree on the side so I can persecute those violent women for their naturally aggressive tendencies when they get back from the combat zone.
If the men's movement did nothing else in the coming years, except concentrate on just one thing, they could do nothing better than actively get out and support the ERA in those states in which it has not yet passed. Women already have out of proportion choice and privilege, while shirking their responsibilities as citizens time and time again. Combat in war is just the #1 example. Geez, there not even required to register for selective service as all men are. Try getting a student loan in college if your a male who hasn’t registered Pass the ERA, and then let the truly overly privileged in this country bear the burdens that men have carried.

"It's a tough battle. Women control 80% of all consumer dollars."
Well that certainly explains the motivation for the symbolic Male Battering that goes on in the Progressive commercials.
Slaughtering males is a profitable business.

"Secondly, don't the guys see what is happening before their eyes? Why are the men of this country allowing this to continue?"
I sometimes use the plot of the movie, The Matrix, to describe what is happening in society. The world as we know it is the Matrix (people kept asleep in a virtual "dream" world to hide the truth from them and keep them placid) and people accept what they are told about how the world is (e.g. "It's a 'Mans' World") because they are conditioned to think this way. People like, those on this board and other MRA sites, have become "aware" of the Matrix and can now see the world as it truly is (a society in which the females have the freedoms, rights and privileges, while the males have all the responsibilities and negativity).
Anyone that is still part of the Matrix is oblivious to the way things truly are because they are merely acting in the manner that they were conditioned to AND they only see the world that is pulled over their eyes to hide them from the truth. Most men allow these things to happen because they have been conditioned to NOT see them as problems. Men either dont see the problems at all, or they see the problems but accept them as "part of life" or do not speak out against them because they dont want to "rock the boat", as it were.
After attempting to bring issues such as this to the attention of fellow males, the response is usually something along the lines of:
-"But women still have things worse."
-"But look at all of the negative things that women have to go through."
-"Men still have the "long" end of the stick."
-"That's just the way things are and they are not going to change."
-"You better stop talking like that or you will never get laid."

We need to stop looking at "who has it worse" as though it's a scoreboard. People want to tally up the figures for "who has it worse" and then help ONLY that side. We need to help everyone who's being abused, discriminated against, and/or harassed. You don't end one injustice by bringing about another.
I'm especially disturbed by the "you won't get laid" response. Who cares? There are more important things than having an orgasm. Hundreds of them. And the men who say "you won't get laid" are falling prey to a stereotype that you can say/do whatever you want to a man and he won't mind, so long as there's a chance of sex afterwards. They're the people we need to wake up.

is at the base of the advertising problem here. The media can charge pretty good rates if they advertise to a group, in this case females, that have a few bucks, and do "a lot of shopping". They will persue them with a vengence, - and have. Whatever gets their attention is a go, - including insulting men, which apparently they like. Just imagine for a minute, - some chemical in the air or something in the water, - that causes that situation to reverse. It makes men the shoppers, and women the less interested in shopping. Who's going to get the attention then? Just have to follow the money trail. The solution for the men, is to nail a few companies with a boycott. We can't nail them all, - far too many. Nail a few, and the rest will get the message. Print up bumper stickers - on who to boycott, and sell them almost for cost. Just get them out there. Make sure the companies are shown photo's of them on cars. It can be done, - but it won't happen over night.
