The Glass Ceiling Myth

News Anonymous writes "What is up with the New York Times? They publish a story debunking the feminist myth of the glass ceiling and then they published this article. The woman disseminating (or is it oviating?) [*groan* - Hombre] this article is on California Governor Schwarzenegger's transition team. One can only wonder what new persecutions await California's collegiate men as well as males in California's work force."

Perhaps someone here might volunteer to contact Schwartzenegger and advise him as to the men's activist view of this?

The Glass Ceiling Tyranny of Intolerance (Score:0)

This whole situation underscores the tyranny of intolerance that exists in "politically correct" schools that embrace nothing more than a facade of tolerance.

With the help of Title IX female enrollment continues to climb in CA colleges, while men's enrollment continues to climb in that other facility.

America has passed Russia as the country having the highest rate of incarceration among industrialized nations. 93% of the prison population is male, and there are no commissions on education for men in prison. In CA there are commissions on education for women.

There is a Women Center on this prestigious campus and a Women's Studies program that now awards an A.A., but nothing comparable for male students.

At this link, this quote:

http://www.smc.edu/missedinformation/stories/Trans fers.htm

"SMC continued to maintain its No. 1 position in transfer of students to the prestigious University of California system in 2002-03, far outpacing the community college with the second highest transfer numbers."

and

"Was by far the leading transfer school to USC, sending 149 to the highly regarded university – nearly twice the number sent by the No. 2 feeder, Pasadena City College, with 75."

amazingly,

Thanks to the affluent area this college is in and to the excellent teachers, counselors and staff, this college has been one of the best community colleges in the state for the past Twenty years or more, and has struggled to keep it's excellence the past ten years under this President. What does SMC's own faculty think of SMC President Piedad Robertson (Gov. elect Schwarzenegger’s new transition team member and "Glass Ceiling" author)?

http://corsair-online.com/Archives/090303/news/fwo _090303.htm

"The relationship between the faculty and top administrators reached a boiling point late last year... ...86 percent (413 members) of the faculty passed a “vote of no-confidence,” directed at Robertson,"

Since the above action another vote of no confidence has overwhelmingly been passed by the classified employees of this college.

WHAT IN THE HECK IS ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER THINKING, OR DOES HE JUST NOT KNOW?

Oh by the way, she received a vote of "no confidence" against her when she was State Secretary of Education back in Massachusetts.

I fear the lace curtain is about to more heavily come crashing down on California's males seeking a college education.

During her 1st eight years at Santa Monica College, upper administration (the highest paid/most powerful jobs on campus) went from 39% female/61% male to 73% female/27% male.

(Santa Monica College Equal Employment Opportunity Survey, Fall 2001)

So much for equal opportunity for males.

Ah, yes, but the fems will probably produce a femstudy showing a progessive decline in the rate of increase in female employment in these posts- clear evidence of discrimination against women!

"decline in the rate of increase in female employment in these posts"

I too suspect that would be the case. If we had that kind of scrutiny of security in Iraq we wouldn't have lost a single man to "post war," hostile action, but then such intensive scrutiny is only allowed to be applied to perceived problems that females have, "It's all about me."

If you want to write like a hard-core feminist take away reason, accountability, and oh yes, unselfishness too. This article written about the glass ceiling certainly meets all three criteria.
