Women Have Career Choices - For Men It's Same Old

News Roy writes "Excellent brief commentary by Cathy Young examines the “glass ceiling” theory and concludes it may in fact be that women have far greater choices to exercise than do men, partly due to women’s reliance on their male partners’ lack of the same choices, dedication to earning maximum bucks, and social stigmas against men who “opt out” of the high-earning fast track."

Why don't women run the world? (Score:2)

An interesting start -- but I note with no particular surprise that the writer doesn't take the next, obvious, step: "Why don't women run the world? Maybe it's because they don't want to." No, it's because they already do -- they just leave the less pleasant parts, e.g. working 60 hours a week at a job you hate, to their wholly-owned front men. As they always have. Are women really so unobservant that they don't get this -- or is it The Big Secret that they desperately hope we won't catch on to?
