Ex-rocker Geldof speaks on behalf of fathers

Fatherhood Bob Geldof, formally of the punk band the Boomtown Rats, has decided to speak up for deadbolt dads. Sky News tells us that...

"He was speaking at the launch of a new book on the subject, Children and Their Families, to which he which he has contributed a chapter. He told the audience, which included Cherie Blair, parents should get equal "50-50" access to their children, as in Denmark."

German court determines man is liable to ex-wive's widowed husband | Where's the justice? I'd say it's been served.  >

Heard a Bob Geldof interview on Irish radio this morning. It was one of the first times that I've ever heard mens' rights being discussed on the feminist controlled Irish national radio station. That in itself is a positive sign and may indicate cracks are appearing in the feminist empire. He made some good points pertaining to mens rights in marriage, and expressed the points eloquently. What impressed me most was that he actually won custody and yet is willing to speak out on behalf of the many victims of the system.
I dont know much about computers but if you try the link below, you may be able to hear the interview. Click on the "friday" edition of the programme. Interview begins at 1hour and 10 minutes into the progamme , so set your realplayer to this point.

Thanks for posting that link. I got it to work, but only by right-clicking and choosing "Save link as..." on the friday edition, and then starting it from my desktop. So if others are having trouble launching ram files from the web they might want to try that.

I agree he was very well-spoken on the show, and made some very good insights. Its extremely rare to hear the differences in the incentives to divorce mentioned at all, especially on a mainstream show. Also he made some points about language bias in how we think about parenting that I've never even come across before, such as the differences between the term mothering and fathering a child. I look forward to reading his chapter in "Children and Their Families".

Bleeding heart liberal does good!

The reason I hate liberals today is because liberal seems to have been hijacked by authoriatarian fruitcakes.

I've been told that feminists are more right wingest and I believe it's more than just partly true. Even though I almost totally agree with the conservative girls at the IWF. Anyways to get back on track.

Geldolf restores my faith in what I once called the liberal stance. A tolerant minded and generous caring type person. Possibly non materialistic and interested in fairness.

Imagine being told you are lucky that you are able to see your own children for a couple of hours a week.

I like turning that example around when I talk to women. I ask them how they would feel about only being able to see their kids X amount a time per week or month. In our friendly discussion you can tell by the looks on their faces that they wouldn't like it.

Woman Sues Ted Nugent Over Child Support

Karen Gutowski says Nugent is the father of her eight-year-old son and she's suing him for increased child support. Gutowski's lawyer, Jeffrey Runge, says Nugent acknowledges the child is his and has paid minimal support since the boy was born. Nugent has not met the child.

Runge will not say how much Nugent is paying Gutowski but Runge says it's far less than Nugent can afford. Nugent was served with court documents on Sept. 5 when Nugent performed in Gilford last Friday.

The case is scheduled for a temporary hearing Sept. 29 but Nugent has until Oct. 7 to file a written response.

You can be sure that it's more than 100 times of the family income of families in the poor section of Leeds. But if your mom slept with a rich guy, the government will get you more money. That's how government works as a pimp these days.

Stop government persecution of male sexuality!!!

He might not think too much of it. He might think that Ted Nugent is completely out of order for behaving as he has. But what has this got to do with issues of father's rights? Oh of course! It's the usual feminist ruse of trying to destroy an entire argument by offering a superficially related, though actually unrelated, example of something else. So here we are talking about father's rights, about issues where fathers are victims of injustice, and Lorianne (who else?) throws in this story about Ted Nugent as if it somehow negates the claim that fathers are not getting a fair deal. Well listen, honey, the way Ted Nugent - one father - behaves has nothing to do with whether fathers are being treated badly by the family court system. As a feminist you're too used to performing a reduction to gender first, then reasoning the right and wrong from that. You were presented with a story showing men as victims, and immediately your feminist brain, offended by the idea that anyone other than a woman could be a victim, sought out an example of a 'bad man' to try and show that - hey! - men are bad! The logic of feminism is this: one bad man proves that all men are bad. Just goes to show that logic is a man's game.

Ted Nugent's bastard has been doing okay for the past 8 years with what is extorted from Nugent by the system. Now he or better she wants more dollars to spend as she pleases with no accounting where it goes to. And besides the slut that downloaded his bastard had the option to abort and avoid parenthood. But the man as in this case gets stuck with economic slavery for 18 years!

Why is it the state's business anyway to decide what level of economic support a child should have after a marriage dissolves or in a case of bastardy? The state doesn't set a level for an intact marriage so it is not its business to do so afterward. The ex husband and wife would do a better job of deciding how much support is needed without the state's meddling. This is why the whole child support gambit is a racket and should be dismantled not just reformed!

Not even in your own words. That's pathetic.
