Is School House Rock Anti-Male?

News amperro writes "Remember the educational cartoon School House Rock? The one titled "Unpack Your Adjectives" goes like this: "Girls who are tall can get taller," (Girl grows) "Boys who are small can get smaller," (Boy shrinks) "Till one is the tallest" (Girl becomes giant while boy gets tiny) "And the other's the smallest of all." (Girl CRUSHES BOY WITH FOOT). We even teach children that violence against males is acceptable!"

...when I was a child.

Even then, I thought it was an odd attack on boys. I never really "got it"It kind of made me mad at girls as I was told always to treat girls with respect.

I wonder if this is how young boys today feel about all the un-natural depictions of the female super-hero archetypes beating the snot out of the badGUYS?

I never liked "adjective" cartoon.

This is one of the reasons I like watching the animated show, Totally Spies. The 3 main young, female characters usually interact with males in a "favorable" way (read: they are depicted as actually *wanting* to date young men and be in the company of males) and about 1/4 - 1/3 of the villains are female. May not be 50/50, but at least the ratio is a LOT better than other "Hero/badguy" shows.

Also, since the heroines are female, the female villainesses cannot use their "feminine charm" to get out of situations.

Good points on that "Totally Spies" cartoon although I don't watch it [ annoying pop music as background noise]

While on the subject of cartoons,I remeber watching a couple of episodes of Justice League [ a cartoon staring a group of dc comics characters] where the vilian was a rather bigoted amazon. being a normal gender feminist her goal was gendercide agianst men. the irony was the only reason she was alive was because a man saved her life when she was a child. as i remeber it wonder woman drowned her, or something like that.

It is an outrage that tax dollars are being used to promote misandry in the school system with this garbage! This entire society seems to have adopted the persona of the femitwits: mindless insanity!
