This is confused idiocy. The article states, "The report warned that unregulated parentage testing, which is accepted by the Family Court, could be abused, especially when money was involved.
"'Fraudulent practices might arise both in seeking to attribute parentage where none exists and in seeking to deny parentage where it does,' it says."
This turns the truth on its head. The clear purpose of parentage testing in such cases is to eliminate such fraudulent practices.
Also, the article states, "Under the recommendations, women would be prevented from using genetic testing to win child support from men denying fatherhood." This is really a sleazy spin. If the man can be stuck with the bill without such testing, then the woman loses nothing by being denied such testing. It is the man who loses if he is barred from showing that he is not the father and, thereby, from being relieved of the financial burden of the child.
