If the facts of the case are exactly as stated in the article, I hope that boy's family sues the living crap out of the police, the school system, and everyone else involved with this atrocity. Remember that old commercial that stated "it shouldn't hurt to be a child"? There should be one now that says "It shouldn't be a crime to be male".
That could be a good bumper sticker too.

This isn't direct gender-discrimination, however I couldn't imagine this arrest taking place if the child was female. However, I didn't care for the "boys will be boys" rationalization of all other behavior, since this often is used as an excuse for refusing protection even as severe as in "The Karate Kid" (whose moral is that boys should have to learn military hand-to-hand combat in order to be safe and gain respect in high school-- a sentiment dating back to (I believe) the Greco-Roman era, when such "pankration" training, taught to boys of similar ages, was banned c. 400 BC by Marcus Aruleus for its cruelty during training matches.
Rather, this is a common example of how liberals-- like all socialists-- are simply totalitarian fascists, baiting their prey with free goodies after fencing off alternative routes of escape. Then they take control little by little until things like this happen, using every cliche in the book from the wolf in sheep's clothing and strangers bearing gifts to the frog in the slow-cooker.
In this case the "free" benefit is public schools, which were the #1 pied-piper scam from the beginning (ANOTHER cliche).
The misandry in this case simply is another expression of such in society; every day, boys receive additional punishment and less protection solely on the basis of gender-- again on the basis of "gender profiling" and that "boys should be able to and learn to 'take it' and protect themselves)" etc-- often regardless of the severity of the abuse or stress induced thereby-- under socialism, the victim is always blamed.
Likwise under feminism, "no means no" only for females.
As a result, sensitive boys often are bullied and harassed by insensitive girls, who use their "superior social status" to get away with their criminal behavior (and avoid retalliation) to which they feel entitled on the basis of gender to give them carte blanche while a boys' hands are tied-- a double-standard witnessed in any situation in which one person enjoys special status with no commeasurate responsibility--
while such girls often then having the gall to mock these boys for not being masculine enough.
