Martha Burke, still at it...!

Inequality Thundercloud. writes "I was just watching the NBC evening news. They ran a story on the "contraversy" of Augusta national's "men only" policy. I have to say it was classic far-left, anti-male media bias. They gave Martha (the jerk) Burke plenty of air time to screech like the harpie-feminazi that she is. But the guy who runs Augusta was given perhaps a 3 second blurb to defend his position. They DID show men counter protesting the feminazi protesters, But they made absolutely certain that they showed the member of the KKK that also showed up at the men's counter rally. This was done, of course, to make it appear that men's activists are SYNONYMOUS with the likes of the Klan! I find it interesting that the media never asks the question, that if Burke is truely for gender equity, why she and the fem-squad never take to task things like the WNBA, that has no male players. Or why is it that there are at least 500 ALL FEMALE universities in the U.S.A. but NO all men's universities, and why that is the case. Oh, no. The media would never dare ask such things. If they did Martha (the jerk) Burke's and all feminazi arguments would be rendered completely MOOT! And we can't have that. Not in misandrist America..., Thundercloud."

Our task is similar to fighting Nazism in 1930s Germany. The battle will be long and wearying, and we will encounter a ceaseless stream of anti-male hatred, distortions, and lies. When you see the sort of thing that Thundercloud describes, just take a deep breath, remind yourself that you knew this would happen, and keep up the good fight. We'll win this war, and hopefully some of the most evil monsters will someday be brought to justice.

Incidentally, I'm not sure, but I think there are fewer than a couple hundred all-female colleges and universities in the US (and far, far fewer all-male colleges and universities).

Last I checked, there are about 70 women-only institutions in the US and Canada, and 3 men-only institutions (aside from seminaries). The Women's College Coalition gives more information about women-only institutions.

While I am not sure about overt Federal and state funding for the women-only institutions, I believe all of them use funds from Federal student loans and grants.

If Martha Burk is so concerned about equality among the genders, then let her fight to have the doors of all battered women's shelters opened to men. After all, most of 'em are publicly funded, as opposed to a privately funded golf club.

oh yes, the struggles of an older middle class white woman.

I could care less about agusta though it's not like they'd include me in their club, I'm too poor, yet I'm male. Why isn't she beating down the door of the all male
selective service/conscription club? Why doesn't she want her gender to join this club? What about women get in free nights at clubs?? Why not let men in for free or make women pay for going into these night 'clubs'.

Again I'm not shedding any tears over the trials and tribulations of rich men who wouldn't even let me in. I'm just sick of the fact that feminists only look at the men at the top and don't even look at the men on the bottom below their priveleged asses.

Here's an article on Burk's protest written by Sally Jenkins of the Washington Post. Some pretty funny stuff.

I am going to give Martha's organization a call (202-393-7122) tomorrow and ask them why they didn't get any more protesters than 40?? I bet she would like your support too. ;>)

Thanks for that link, Tom. I laughed out loud many times. The looney tune, Martha Burk, may be one of the best things that's happened to the men's rights movement, or at least one of the funniest. She's certainly got a lot of people pointing out that men have some rights (freedom of association in this case).

I hope you don't mind. This is such a great article, I think it deserves its own thread, so I'm going to post a separate link to it and credit you for turning us on to it.

Welllll. I just gave them a call and when I asked about the low turnout was told that they had intentionally "toned down" the protest in order to try to get a better protest site. I asked her if it was "toned down" from 200 to 100 (which I had heard about via CNN) and she said "yes." Then I asked why they planned for 100 but only got 36. She asked me where I got that information and I said CNN and Sally Jenkins from the Post. She said "Oh, she's wonderful" (meaning Jenkins) and hung up the phone! LOL!! Looks like they are more than a little sensitive about this one. Hanging up on enquiring citizens!! LOL!!

Also from the article below, there is a health fitness company called, "Curves" that has 5,000 gyms across the US that cater to women only. Serious case of gender discrimination I would say!

You still might be correct about the 500 figure.

In the US there are 74 female only colleges but this does not include female only private prep schools of which there may be quite a number.

Also, there may be 500 or more female only colleges in the western world. Countries like Britain, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand (and insane misandric country if there ever was one!!!) France, Switzerland and so forth have their share of female only institutions of higher learning if you want to call them that.

I agree!! If women want equality then you have to take the good with the bad. No more women only gyms, no more girl guides, no more womens only social or business groups. While we are at it, why don't we go to same sex washrooms in malls and other public places, don't want women waiting in line while I guys go right on in!!

Martha Burke would go away if the media would stop giving her press. She cares nothing about women, only about publicity. Women have bigger concerns then being allowed to play a club for the excessivly rich. Martha, I'm sorry but even if they allowed women you wouldn't qualify, not enough money.

Martha Burke's protesting of all-male country clubs has nothing to do with breaking down gender discrimination, and everything to do with taking control of people's private individual lives-- and even their minds.

This is the heart of the liberal mindset, which, Ayn Rand maintained, is based on the hatred of independent thought, which I likewise claim threatens liberals who, in their arrogance and paranoia, believe themselves to be the supreme intelligence and wisdom, with their whims being infallible imperatives, with everything else dangerous ignorance; and so, they see to impose their whims on everyone else, establishing such control "for the good of everyone" (i.e. the collective). As such, they cannot stand the notion of any organization not under their control, and so seek to gain it at the point of a gun.

While we know this to be simple blind egocentrism, such hypocrisy seeks to impose their interests upon those of others out of the same sense of self-aggrandizement, subordinating others' interests to their own as with any other form of exploitation.

Fortunately, some people are getting wise to this deception, however for the most part the death of socialism is simply a balance of power among individuals rather than a stand on principle.

For example, the infamous "Anti-Defamation League" seeks to fight school voucher-programs, while simultaneously singing praises of the public school system and touting spurious "church and state" claims (despite routine access to such by Hebrew schools). Obviously, such liberal thinking claims to act in the best interests of childre, but in actuality simply seeks to maintain opportunity to influence social programming of other people's children on the public nickel.

But we as men, in general have to watch what we say. The feminists will take comments like that and use it to show how "violent and dangerous men are..." even though it is an 'empty "threat"'
It is interesting to note that feminsts make similar comments regarding men, but are NEVER called out on it.
That is one amoung many reasons we get frustrated when fighting the fem-squad.

I've read enough of your posts to know that you really don't mean you want Burke to be harmed, You're just airing your frustration. I think I speak for many of us here, when I say, no one here wants to see Martha Burke harmed, we just want her to wake up and see herself the way she truely is, and either tell the truth or shut the hell up and stop annoying the $#!t out of everyone.
