I like how the Ms. article only referred to wives, and then children as a side-note. Then the website itself, and most of the posters, use the term partners. Are there that many people who think there's a lot of husband-battering or what?
The stories about how those evil judges may only make them spend the night in jail and then go home to beat their wife again, I imagine does happen, but the victim immediately has people telling her how she needs to press charges, etc.
If they don't, it's a sad situation, but how can you do something about it?
I was also glad to see the first comment after the article snippet contained the words "Not to mention husband-beaters or child-beaters." Immediately, it reminds people there isn't some conspiracy of evil men out there.

I still remember the news media reporting over and over again about how "wife beating" was America's "best kept secret.".
All I can say is, If it was a secret, you Bone heads, how come EVERYONE knows about it, Millions of dollars go to stop it, there are DV-shelters everywhere for WOMEN, and you in the news report on it at LEAST once every week, give or take?!?
In truth, America DOES has some "best kept secrets" about the abuse and victimization of some of it's citizens. (We all know where I'm going, with this.)
But abused WOMEN ain't one of them...!
...I respectfully dessent...,
TC.
