Salem Witch Trials of 1692 and DV Hearings

Domestic Violence Maryland Judicial Equality Committee writes "The court documents of the infamous witch trails are on line. After a case review of the seventeen people who were executed for Abuse by Witchcraft, there was a consistent pattern by the court in it's methods of determining guilt. The court's pattern is disturbingly similar to today's Domestic Violence hearings. The details and links to the documents are on this page. Like then Governor William Phips of Mass., who will have the courage to challenge our current dysfunctional legal system?"

The similarities between the Salem Witch trials and the restraining order/exparte' of DV is striking and disgusting. Both are based on the presumption of guilt through the word of the accuser. If the victims of this injustice were women it would have been changed by now.

The least that needs to be done is to make the penalty extreme for false accusations.

who will have the courage to challenge our current dysfunctional legal system?

James Nollet did.

You can too!

In Federal Court!

Sure, she may brag that she never met a toilet she couldn't overflow.

But just put a nice, natural paper bag over her head.

You'll save the earth two ways!

I tell you. My psycho ex and her lesbian lover fabricated a story that made me look like a monster. When I showed up (in chains) the DA, Judge, Advocates, and court personal had already made up their minds...

It was like they were all drunk on hysteria and would have locked me up for a long time.

The lack of factual information and evidence seemed less important than 'having been accused and the fact the the girls were 'upset'.

Today, a woman can say whatever she wants in court, and the man is automatically 'bewitched' by the system.

We need everyone to make an issue of the doublestandards of our dysfunctional legal system.

We need media and print journalists to take up and consistently bring the issue to the public and stir their conscience. We try but no editor will listen. Speak for us.

We need women to stand up and say it is wrong to stereotype men. When will women be tired of NOW speaking for them? Join us.

We especially need lawyers who are willing to take the time to challenge the system in court.
We need lawyers, people of character, who consider Thourgood Marshall a role model. Who will stand up with us? What lawyer will show his or her mettle? Fight for us.
