Boy-Bashing Stickers at Big Y Grocery Stores

News RPB659 writes "Hi Guys, While I visit this site often, this is my first time posting anything. Remember those offensive stickers that were at Ames Department stores? Well, they're back. This time they are at Big Y grocery stores. For those of you that never heard of them, it's a chain of grocery stores in Western Massachusetts. It's run by the D'Amour family. I'm sure we can get them to remove the stickers in the same manner that Ames did." Excellent idea - but we need more info. Are the stickers being sold on the shelves, or at vending machines like they were at Ames? And can anyone find contact info for Big Y so we can write to them?

I don't know if its me or not, but women in general just do not have common curtesy like men do. Men allow the right of way women don't even look where their going then wonder why someone's pissed off at them.

The way I see it eventually they will just turn on themselves.

I remember watching The Daily show and that John guy had on one of those chicks from the 'VIEW' and they were trying to pass off some bullshit that women never fight. Because the view is opperated by what 4 or 5 women and they all get along in some idealistic utopia.

Every once in a while I troll the Ms. boards and I have to tell you they are worst to their own kind. Not only that absolutely none of them can stand up to any critisim of feminism and sexist laws such as VAWA. If they continue to teach girls to disrespect life than thats exactly what girls will do.

I've seen it, young girls hating men because of the basest lies by feminism. I don't believe that these girls naturally hate men, they are just so misinformed of men and hetrosexuality. Girls today are choosing lesbianism because of a social construct that feminism is creating.

But in contrast, lets develope some self esteem. Men Rule, boy power, Men gave their lives so you could live. Whatever slogan you can come up with, even for the hell of it just write a few if you can think of some. Im going to stay away from female negativity and stick to positive male imagery.

The role model for the modern girl must surely be Veruca Salt, the spoilt brat in Roald Dahl's 'Charlie And The Chocolate Factory'. Everything she wanted she got, and damn anyone else's feelings. You may have seen the 1971 film version, 'Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory', which had Gene Wilder as the demented confectionist. In the film, Veruca Salt, played perfectly by a young actress called Julie Dawn Cole, reaches the pinnacle of selfishness with a musical number called 'I Want The World'. The words go:

I want a feast
I want a bean feast
Cream buns and donuts, fruitcake with no nuts
So good you could go nuts

I want a ball
I want a party
Pink macaroons and a million balloons
And performing baboons and -
Give it to me NOW!

I want the world
I want the whole world
I want to lock it all up in my pocket
it's my bar of chocolate
Give it to me NOW!

I want today
I want tomorrow
I want to wear 'em like braids in my hair
and I dont want to share 'em
I want a party with roomfulls of laughter
Ten thousand tons of icecream
And if I don't get the things I'm after
I'm going to SCREAM!

I want the works
I want the whole works
Presents and prizes and sweets and surprises of all shapes and sizes and NOW!
Don't care how!
I want it now!
Don't care how!
I want it NNNNNN0000WWW!!!

Hey, we've all known girls like that. Only these days it's being made into some kind of virtue. Not just in girls, but in women too. You only have to look at what some guys go through after divorce, or the way some feminists want there to be no consequences of any kind ever for anything any woman does. But just as women are becoming a bunch of Veruca Salts, so all too many men are acting like her father, Henry Salt, by giving in to all their demands. They will become spoilt brats if we let them, and we'll be the ones who suffer most because of it.

If it's any consolation, at the end of her song Veruca is judged to be a 'bad egg' and gets dumped down a shoot that leads to a furnace which may or may not be lit - Mr Wonka isn't too sure.

Anyone got a light?

"NO ONE escapes reprisal when they stab a stick into a hornets nest. And THIS "ladies" IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE DOING!"

Well put, Thundercloud. I don't normally go in for gender stereotypes, one common difference I do notice between men and women is the depth of their anger, how easily that anger is aroused, and it's relationship to other areas of life. Women frequently seem to get angry very easily, but they also seem to be able to set that anger aside quickly. Thus a woman may male-bash in one breath, but worry about getting a boyfriend/husband in the next. Is that hypocrisy or flexibility? I guess it depends on the situation.

Men, by contrast, are generally slower to get angry, but they hold on to that anger longer, and apply it more "globally." Men whom I've know who have decided they don't want women in their lives make very few exceptions.

(Let me re-iterate that I really don't go in for stereotypes. All of the above remarks should be qualified as "generally true in my experience." I'm certainly not claiming that they are universally true)

The relevance of all this to the present discussion is that, although it has taken men 30 years to get angry over the way radical feminists have mis-treated and demonised us, that anger runs deeper and will have wider reaching consequences than I think even the most male-friendly of women can imagine.

Thundercloud, you mention more murders and rapes of women as a possible result. I hope that isn't true, mostly because I dislike the thought of any murders or rapes, but also because I'll bet the feminists would just use it as more proof of what beasts men are, thus making the situation worse for men. What is a more likely result in my view is an ever deeper alienation between the sexes, resulting in more children born out of wedlock. Deprived of a stable home with access to loving attention from both their mothers and fathers, more children will be damaged, and society will spiral ever downwards.

I remember reading a comment from a woman that we were living in a "world gone wild with misogyny." I thought "lady, you ain't seen nothing yet."

Maek, ya hit the nail on the head.

I don't know if I can point to a speciific epiphany for myself, but I'm aware that I transformed from the liberal "Why can't we all get along" niave and callow youth I was in HS, to my current manner of thinking. Winston Churchill had it right. (Damn clever, these men.)

Now I resent the intrusion of the feminine into my life. And I do regard them as an intrusion, something to be tolerated in a proper niche, but certainly not something to share anything with. What is me is mine, and mine alone.

I've heard all the patronizing "What a lonely life that must be..." Phffbhpt. Lonely how? My children and I do things together. I work my holidays on a four year rotation to give everyone a fair shake at a piece of the Gonzmeister. :) I travel.

I have stimulating philosophical and intellectual conversations with my male friends. Unlike women, when we disagree we don't hate each other - there is no neurotic requirement for "consensus" or other such garbage.

I haven't spent an evening alone where I did not choose to be alone since - oh, about the time I decided that the emotional turmoil and high drama women brought into my life wasn't worth a bag of sour owl shit.

It's a pity sometimes that I'm not gay. Right now, what do I possibly need a woman for except for sex? They have nothing to offer. Ooooh, mind games, indecisiveness, "tests of love," changing of minds, tears, drama, mood swings. Oh, and let's not forget the perennial favorites, the stalking, threats of lawsuits or accusations of abuse if things don't go their way. And the scheming and manipulating.

Gosh, sign me up! I miss that sooooo much! Oh! Oh! Me first! Me first!

Yeah, sure, yabetcha.

I don't care anymore about so called "women's issues," and in fact if I'm not bored to tears I'm annoyed by the carping on them. Puh-lease. Get out of my face.

Yeah, yeah, little Suzie is all upset because "Barbie" gives her "issues" with her body and self-esteem. Well, you spoilt bitch, Johnny had his leg blown off over in the Persian Gulf. Stevie is in a wheelchair because he worked one of those jobs you women wouldn't touch and fell from the high steel. Mike has a colostomy bag from his prostate operation. And Phil missed going to med school, has tumors from agent orange, and wakes up screaming at night because he keeps seeing the face of the 12 year old he had to kill because the kid was about to blow up his squad with a grenade.

Issues with your body, my ass. Grow the hell up. Pick up your rifle and come back a mangled memory of what you once were, and then talk to me about issues with your body. Spoilt bitch.

Put on your push up bra, and low cut shirt, and bitch because your tits get stared at. Wear high heels, patterned hose, and a short skirt and bitch because your legs get stared at. It's all men's fault.

Be some ball-breaking witch, and then whine when you're forty five and can't have children. I'm supposed to care why? But it's my fault, because I have the penis! Either that or you can become a professional baby-machine; Mommy Inc., collecting support and welfare checks and living high - until you're forty-five, the butt and tits sag, the support ran out, the welfare is gone, and you have no skills, and no job. Waaaaah! Evil nasssssty MEN! Hurtssss usssss, they doesss!

And no man would look at you because we're selfish and evil, and don't care to be sixth place in your life - especially when you insist that you become the reson for ours. Oh, that shirt you got free with your subscription to Ms. - the one that talks about how "Women need a man like a fish needs a bicycle" has nothing to do with it. Well cry me a fuckin' river.

Many moons ago, when I was young, I got robbed at my first job out of high school. I had to testify, to relive that night, to face those punks. But of course, you want special treatment when it comes to rape. You don't even want to have to demonstrate that a crime has occurred. Boo-hoo-hoo! Mean ol' men. Women never lie! We have an anti-lie gene!

Yeahright.

It'd actually be a darn shame if other men take my angle of attack and just cut off the slack and sympathy. I have some of these dumb sluts try to claim "discrimination" and "Hostility" on me, and I've destroyed every one of them when they did. I do all required by law, and document, document, document. They few that remain working for me toe the line (Somebody cue up "Under My Thumb.") They scurry like rats to some poor sucker caught in the old chivalry lie, and it's good riddance to bad rubbish so far as I am concerned. If ya'll did that, they'd have no place to run to.

No, Mark, I'm not a rapist; I'm not liable to beat a woman, but I have lost all empathy for them, and rightfully so. Women have chosen to criminalize masculinity, marginalize men's issues, trivialize men's concerns, dismiss men's involvement with their children, and mock and alienate the male. Fine. So be it.

My grandpappy, God rest his soul, once told me to "Give twice as good as you get; Good, bad, or indifferent." Lotta wisdom in that wise old coot. And I will be damned if I will do anything but nod sagely and in understanding when any man expresses similar sentiments. Amen. I'm with you, brother. I'm there.

It's good to be angry; and just desserts is a sweet dish to serve.

Last spring, we had a group of Junior High Students tour the place where I work as part of a "Vocations Day" or some such thing. Two eighth grade girls got off the bus Wearing misandric shirts.

I had them cool their heels for a while, and called the principal of the chool, expressing my displeasure. He seemed shocked that I was offended, and I told him that the two girls would not be allowed to take the tour wearing those shirts. Or we could call the whole thing off, and send everyone home. He agreed to whatever I wanted.

I called the two pheminist/teacher/chaperones aside and gave them a choice, the girls couls either stay on the bus, exchange their shirts for two company shirts, or the tour could be cancelled. They were ready to cancel, and THEN I let drop that I had already spoken to the principal. They demanded to speak to him, so I put him on speakerphone (And refused to let them speak privately - my office, my phone, my rules)

The girls traded, amidst much tears. (It's only a joke! Lighten up!) I threw the damn shirts of theirs in the box shredder, after making it clear at the time of the trade that the "trade" was for good, or no trade.

Yeah, this has added to my rep as "Titbuster," and ye Gods on high, how sweet it is. Especially after several of the boys made it a point of thanking me, because when they complained, their pheminazi teachers more or less told them to "Suck it up."

Be angry. Angry is good. Don't be a Yoda. Come to the Dark Side.

My only regret is that I didn't get to see it.

This link basically denies that boys are being routed by feminist jargon.

Who really knows anymore. But one thing it does point out is boys just do not have ambition anymore.

No wonder, when a kid gets reprimanded for wearing a 'boy power' shirt.

Hi folks,

There seems to be a lot of talk about this issue but so far little action.

I'm hoping that the original submitter of this article is reading this, because before I send my letter I need to know if the grocery store is selling the stickers on their shelves (a lot of grocery stores have a small section with cheap toys in it) or if it's at the vending machines. If anyone else near a Big Y could check this out that would be great.

I'd love to see the activism around this that occured during the time we caught Ames doing this. It was a very rewarding victory, knowing that Ames was no longer going to include those stickers in its vending machines, and cut off one of the sources of male bashing young girls are taught at such and early age. (Ames has since gone bankrupt, BTW, and all stores will be closed by Oct. Looks like Wal-Mart has taken another victim).

Hi Scott,

This is the first time I've had time to check back since the original post. The stickers are in vending machines near the exit. I see your point, that this is different than if they were selling them on thier shelves. They may just have a contract with the vendor to keep it filled, without knowing the content. I will go back there tonight and get the name of the vendor. I'm sure it will be printed on the machine. I'll let you know later tonight, or tomorrow.

Actually, I'm not, 'cause the '215 number didn't work when I tried it in response to the Ames item. Good work, RPB! :-)

Thanks RPB659, I, too, am waiting on that info.

Hey, guys, let's remember to do something about this, after we find out whom to contact.

By the way, I ran across the stickers in Westfield, MA. Can anyone check at one of the other area Big Y stores to see if they are at those, also? Thanks,
Rick

I'm pleased to report that I got an email from the store manager saying they have removed the vending machine, and are having it picked up. They also said that they did not approve the stickers. While I'm very happy with Big Y's response, I haven't heard anything yet from the vending company. I think that's where the real problem is. Did anyone else have any better luck with them?
