from the announcements dept.
Announcements It is with great pleasure and gratitude that I'd like to announce that the MANN on-line chats will resume, hosted by both Steve Imparl and Scott Haltzman. The next chat will be held this Wednesday night, starting at 9:30 PM Eastern Time, at the usual location. However, there will be discussion on possibly moving the regular day, so if you'd like the chats to be on a different night, feel free to post a comment on that. The topic for this chat will be electing male-friendly politicians in this fall's elections. Do you know of some candidates in your state or region that would be good or not-so-good choices? Join the chat and let others know about it!

What's a male friendly politician? I've never seen one. Is this an oxymoron? Are they an endangered species, or do they even exist?

Sorry for the sarcasm, but after several days of seeing no comments on this post, it looked so empty sitting there all alone I just had to take a swipe at it and say something, even if it was just to ridicule it and make fun of it. No offense intended to submitter of this post, but please, do let me know when the first politician gives a hoot about oppressed men as a group.

Does all this sound kind of bitter, or did I just swallow some more lead from the pencil I was chewing on?

Wow! It was actually four (4) whole days that nobody said a peep about this posting. Are men an unrepresented group by politicians or what?

NH state Rep. Dave Bickford is a truly male-friendly politician, I can vouch for that.

Unfortunately, I know of almost no others. There are a few candidates here and there that might support a male friendly bill, but never before have I met someone as consistent and successful as Dave. I say "consistent and successful" because you often find one or the other, but not both. Strong pro-male politicians don't tend to be successful, and successful politicians don't tend to be pro-male. Go figure.

I sent him (Rep. Bickford) a small contribution today, and told him, "Any politician who supports men's rights is worthy of support by all men everywhere."

Scott, I'm not trying to be a smart alec, here, But, About this Dave Bickford, I am GLAD he is pro-male. But do you know his stance on Women?
I mean He's not pro-male, anti-FEMALE, is he?
I just don't want to support any one who's ANTI- one or the other.
Probably seems like a dumb question, But I just want to be CERTAIN.
Thanks.
