Colorado Wildfire: Blame It On A Man
posted by Thomas on Monday July 01, @11:17AM
from the News dept.
News This article covers Terry Barton, the woman who finally admitted to starting the worst wildfire in Colorado history. In a ploy reminiscent of the NOW's stand on Russell Yates, Stephanie Howard, a Forest Service wildlife biologist states of Barton's husband, "He didn't know how to love her. He had a drinking problem. He had just a huge amount of issues with trying to deal with loving someone, loving his daughters . . . He was a very difficult man to live with." Prosecutor Dave Conner asked, "You're not suggesting that John Barton caused Terry Barton to set this fire, are you? Or are you?" Howard replied, "Indirectly, I am, yes."

As Predicted - Next Husband will be Accused of DV (Score:0)

Well what can I say. Several of us predicted that since she is a woman that they would find a way to blame the fire on a man. Now we have allegations of DV already beginning to surface. Next, I predict that because there is a daughter involved, that they will imply sexual abuse.

Note that this is happening in the most male hostile state in America (Co). The pattern of claiming male abuse is predictable and common. It is just a matter of time till somebody tries to get a restraining order against the husband. This will be done in the guise of the "best interest of the child." Then the stage will be set for the woman's release or acquittal and the husbands further criminalization. This lady is going to get off with a slap on the wrist simply because she is a woman. As they say, the writing is on the wall

Maybe 'arseness' is the right word.

The Rodeo-Chediski fire, the largest in Arizona history, was started by two people. (It's two fires that joined.) The Rodeo part was started by a man, who has now been taken into custody. The Chediski part was started by "a lost hiker, who was signalling for help."

Now it occurred to me, early on, that if this much was known about the "lost hiker," the person's identity, or at least a physical description, was probably known. It struck me as odd that article after article didn't say who the person was or give any description. (Yeah, I know, if you did deep enough, you may find articles that give more info, but I read a lot and watched lots of television reports on the fire.) I became suspicious (Me? Suspicious?) that the hiker was probably a woman. Well, sure enough, I finally came across an article that did mention that the hiker was a woman. Perhaps they're holding off on identifying her until they find a man to blame for her actions.

You may want to keep your eye on this one, too.

This chick makes the bogus allegation of rape to get out of her plight. Funny how rape is one of the first things to get an excuse for to get out of her situation. Women know the score on this, they use it to get out of all kinds of shit.

Here's a link to the article to which Dan referred. And here's a quote from it, "At first she told detectives she'd been abducted, raped and then returned to the parking lot where she found her children."

Now remember kiddies: When a man does something wrong, it's because men are evil; when a woman does something wrong, it's because men are evil.

Boy we think alike--I heard about this on the radio today and the first thing I thought of was a link to Barton. I heard Gloria Allred talking about it on the radio today (quite decently, from what I heard) and when callers were criticizing this murdering mom I half-expected an indignant caller to say "And where was the children's father when all this was happening? Why do we only blame the woman?"--GS

I came across this site that I felt was connected. Maybe some of you have seen it, but Im going to set the link here. The same result in VAWA 2 is what this lawyer is going for, the woman needs only make an accusation, and it renders her free from all responsibility. In the end this stuff makes for great anti-marriage and anti-child posters. I really don't understand what they are trying to do, but it looks like they are slowly dissintegrating our rights day by day.
