Judge Vilified as Victim Hater
posted by Scott on Monday February 04, @04:38PM

News warble writes "This article is about a female judge who is actually starting to get it. She is Judge Megan Lake Thornton in Fayette County, KY, and she is sending women to jail when they violate their own restraining orders. As usual the super-fems are spouting their hatred of judges that hold women accountable for their actions. It further reports on how the super-fems are seeking to reinforce the female victim status, and reports on how the super-fems vilify the judge as a victim hater."

I'm proud of this judge. She's standing up to those who would take advantage of the legal system to exact revenge on a boyfriend/husband/lover/whoever who dared to argue with her.

Yeah, the genfems are upset, probably because under this judge women cannot have their cake and eat it too.

For starters, most restraining orders are not issued because of actual "battering".

The one who calls the police more often is the women (even though studies indicate she may be more willing to initiate physical contact).

No distinction between a violent assault or placing a hand on someone's shoulder is made , the law views simple all reported arguments as violent offenses.

According to this article many women go back to their lovers. They all know that with any provocation in the future, they can simply make a phone call and land their "Romeo" in the slammer because he has now has a record (mind you a record before the facts) in form of a restraining order complaint. This now can be used as evidence to strip him of custodial rights, visitation rights, perhaps his freedom and his most definitely his livelihood.

This is by design, and this is why the radfems are up in arms about this judge.

In my opinion, this woman deserves a medal. She's going out on a helluva thin limb to take this position, but it one of the most sensible positions I've ever seen a judge take.

Does anyone have her address so that we might let her know how we feel about this?

I live in Lexington, and support the Judge's actions regarding enforcing DVO's for both parties. To my knowledge no one has been jailed, only fined, and so far there have only been two cases like this. There seems to be an outpouring of public support for this judge, but you can expect some kind of judicial complaint from the players that profit immensely from the existing system (lawyers, social workers, women's groups, etc.). The double standards and special privileges for women are too engrained for this to go on without a response. I wouldn't be surprised if legislation were introduced with the intent of reining in Judge Thornton.
