The Male Intellect: An Oxymoron?

News David Compas writes "“The Male Intellect: an oxymoron?” - [is] a show in Reno, Nevada that begins on 9 January 2002. Probably male bashing at its worst. See the web site here." Hey, there's nothing like a guy mocking men and masculinity as a way to make money as a comedian, right? Careers have been built on this stuff.

People like the guy who does this type of show love affirmative action and pop cultural trends such as misandry - as long as they can keep lining their pockets with money.

This guy isn't stupid, he knows that by 'dissing' men and making men look like idiots the mainstream media will praise him and give him all sorts of free press and accolades.

It's a great deal, this charlatan has figured out how to promote himself without having to pay for much advertising simply by making fun of men.

Feminism is hypocritical sexism. The media would be up in arms if this show was named anything derogitory toward women.

There is good news here, though. The thing is, we know about this beforehand and now we can make intelligent choices about where to spend (or not) our money. It would be nice if we could get a "misandry thermometer" for every movie and show that hits the theaters either before they open or immediately upon opening.

Maybe we, in some way, could be that thermometer. I think we are to some degree already.

Perhaps Scott would be willing to accommodate posts to this effect?

They need to be timely, though. There was a recent post on "Shallow Hal" that indicated that it wasn;t innately misandrist. I haven't seen it; it's my kind of flick. But it was a timely commentary, and so if there've been movies recently released that seem misandric, then I, for one, would like to read about that here beofer I get dragged off to sit through it.

If you ever want to just sit and enjoy a movie again I wouldn't plan on reading the book, "Spreading Misandry." You will never look at movies the same again. Misandry is sometimes overt and other times hidden in subtle messages.

(PS please do read this book. Its an eye opener!)

I'm three-quarters of the way through it and, no, I will never look at a movie thae same way again. For example, I had no idea that "Beauty and the Beast" had been so extensively re-written.
