This whole concept that males perpetrate most child sexual abuse is why the problem can't be solved.
Child sexual abuse, like any other type of abuse is spread through learned behavoir. This is refered to as the "cycles of abuse". Adult abuses child, child may or may not grow up to abuse.
Most research indicates 1 in 5 abuse victims will themselves become abusers. The chances increase dramitically to 9 in 10 when the person is a drug user, alcoholic, has unusual sexual habits or suffers from depression/mental illness.
Applying basic math skills to these facts make it impossible for one gender to be responsible of a larger percentage of abuse.
Survey's of adult survivors clearly indicate that just over half of the victims were abused by a woman (women being 52% of the population). These surveys also state that only 5% of abuse was homosexual in nature(this is changing though). Which means, most boys are abused by women and later grow up to abuse girls.
Less than 5% of boys report abuse where well over 33% of girls do ( 20% taking into account that up to 40% are false aligations). This makes it obvious that the authorities are ignoring this problem as well as the agencies that claim to be looking out for the children. Female child sexual abuse is likely the most under-reported, under-prosected crime in this country.
The cycle of abuse is never going to stop as long as we as a society continue to scapegoat men as abusers and let the Poundstone's run freely in the streets to find more victims.
The fact that Poundstone is a known alcoholic and a sexual deviant makes her guilt obvious. The D.A. and Judge in this matter have clearly re-enforced this by vurtue of their ruling. If she was not guilt, they would have fully restored her ability to act as a foster parent. The fact that they are forcing one child to live with a child molestor is sickening and yet another piece of proof that the system is biased in favor of women.
Paula Poundstone should have been required to register as a sexual preditor, which was not listed as a punishment. Lets do our part to make sure this molestor can't work anywhere other than N.O.W. conventions for the rest of her days.
