News A Massachusettes politician who was told she cannot speak at a men-only veterans dinner because she is female is enraged and thinking of taking legal action, according to this story on Excite News. The club in question does have some female members, but is a bona fide private club and can, therefore, exclude whom it wishes. The woman says that she could lose a prime networking opportunity if not allowed to attend the dinner. Silva told DeFranco the men-only dinners are a tradition. "And that's the way it's going to be," he said.

I'll be impressed with women like the representative from Delaware when they start complaining about the many women-only business clubs and social clubs that dot the landscape. For a not-so-odd reason, clubs like this provide a "sexist insult" only when they exclude women. If another club chooses to exclude men, that's just "girls having fun."

I, for one, would cheer the return of men's clubs, not to "re-establish the patriarchy" but to provide some respite from chattering female idiots like this one.
