...and the closest, nicest and most convenient health club in the area is a women only health club called Healthworks... No one even considers it odd that with all the feminist ranting about men's sexism that I hear around Cambridge, the most sexist establishment looms above a major square hovering over everyone without any consideration as to what is going on...
The argument that I've heard people use to justify this clubs single gender enrollment is: there are other clubs in Cambridge, and women don't want men around when working out....
I guess it's OK if you are women and want to enjoy this type of single gender experience, but if you are a man - you are stereotyped as being sexist.

I maintain that private clubs are fine for either sex, but the reasoning behind women-only clubs makes ME uncomfortable. It's always "well, women are uncomfortable doing this or that around men." SO? That's THEIR problem, not mine. Why should I be punished for THEIR bigotry?
I just wonder how long it will be before men are required to walk down one side of the street and women the other because women are "uncomfortable" with men walking on their side.
