"Thanks to the persistent intervention of reality, the hostile egalitarianism of the sexes may at long last be on the wane."
Wishful thinking perhaps but it was a good artiicle.

Actually, the people behind the trend of ignoring gender differences aren't really interested in ignoring all gender differences - just the ones where males would appear superior (and females would appear less defenseless).
Not long ago, I read a short article in my local paper about women pursuing more careers in technology. Basically the article bemoaned the lack of "girl geeks" in the world (feminists hear "geek" as being a compliment, apparently) and centered around a particular woman geek who'd been in technology for a lot of years and claims she was always (unfairly) underestimated.
Then, after the article finishes griping about how certain abilites and proclivities have been wrongly attributed to men, it goes the extra mile by paying lip service to women's obviously greater natural talents for intuition and relationship skills and how this serves to accentuate their abilities on the job.
Thus - we are left to infer - it's a myth that males, being generic, have any unique intellectual capacities; however, a female mind definitely contributes something "extra" to the process that makes women employees especially valuable.
The contradiction might have been funny, if it hadn't been so damned infuriating.
