Announcements Yes, it's time again for our weekly chat - last week's was very productive, and the list of pro and anti male companies should hit the web site later today. Tonight, our topic will be strategies for promoting men's rights. What new and unorthodox methods need to be tried in this arena? Are there any special tricks or techniques in the traditional methods (letter writing, etc) which you feel helped to get your voice heard? Join our discussion and learn how to maximize the effectiveness of your activism! Click here to go to our chat page at 9:30 PM Eastern Time tonight.

Sounds like a worthwhile topic to me. Unfortunately, I can't participate tonight. Scott, could you post the strategies that develop from tonight's chat, like you're going to post out list of anti-male and pro-male ads?

Sorry to hear you two won't be able to make it.

I will log the chat session and make the transcript available to you by e-mail upon request. To protect the privacy of the people involved, I may ask that you not distribute the transcript further.

I will try to make the session tonite, but in the meantime, it might be reasonable to float some ideas and see how much support they attract in the chat:

1) Establish a presence in the colleges and universities, a strategy which has been successful for the feminists and the environmentalists, among others;
2) Organize small fundraising events, for example, for prostate cancer research, and prominently display the sponsorship of your favorite men's/father's right group;
3) Engage other men, including boys as young as high-school age, and especially men who are happily married, in discussions of men's rights issues, letting them know how many men there are out there who feel the same way they do;
4) Write letters-to-the-editor of your local newspaper, and where you see your neighbors writing them, follow-up with supportive letters, letting the original writer, as well as the public, know that this is not a one-man issue.
5) Register and VOTE. Women voters outnumber men by far more then the population difference. We all know that politicians are prostitutes for votes, and just showing up, no matter who you vote for, will balance the "women's vote."
