We're Back!

	I'd like to thank everyone for being patient for the past five days in which Mensactivism.org was down for the system upgrade. From running out of space on my backup tapes to pulling my hair out trying to configure sendmail, to the lack of responsiveness from the DNS servers which direct the mensactivism.org domain to the correct server, it was a very stressful five days. But with new hardware, a less buggy version of the Slash web engine, and a fresh operating system, The Men's Activism News Network is now prepared for further expansion and some new ideas I've been working on. One of them is a weekly on-line chat session, which I'll release more details about this Friday. It's good to be back!

Among the new features... (Score:1) by Scott (scott@mensactivism.org) on Wednesday June 27, @04:26PM EST (#1) (User #3 Info) http://www.vortxweb.net/gorgias/mens_issues/index.html To anyone who's submitted news to this site in the past, one of the most annoying bugs in the web enging has been fixed - the URL mangling. Basically, when previewing a story submission, spaces would get introduced in long web URLs for each preview that was done. That bug has now been squashed, and should make submitting news easier for readers. Scott

I enjoy running this site and I rarely think of it as a chore. Really, the hardest part of it sometimes is simply having to face the reality of discrimination against men on a daily basis, and that sometimes can wear on you. Regarding the chat session, which night of the week works best for you? I was thinking Tuesday or Wednesay nights, starting at 9:30 PM Eastern Time and just running as long as people participate in it. Scott

In the past year or so, I have been to lots of men's sites, and this one has definitely become my favorite - which is why I finally decided to become a user! Kudos to everybody who makes it possible - it's a great site!
