Washington Times Article on IWF Ad

Censorship Not PC sent me this editorial from the Washington Times. It outlines the controversy at UCLA for the printing of the Independent Women's Forum Ad which factually refutes feminist myths. Christie Scott's call for an apology and for "this to never happen again" is being well exposed as the oppressive PC-censorship that is really is. The article concludes: "In their obvious reluctance to joust, fact to fact, in a debate of ideas, campus feminists reveal not only their loathing for the First Amendment...but also their fear of it. Why else try to stifle someone else's freedom of speech, rather than more vigorously exercise one´s own?"

If there's one place where newspapers and gender-feminism collide, it's on the First Amendment. I am somewhat surprised, but nonetheless relieved, to see such a sensible editorial on the subject in the Washington Times. (I would be MORE surprised if this editorial had appeared in the Post instead). Pit gender-feminist ideals against any hard-nosed reporter's First Amendment religion and, hopefully, the First Amendment will win out every time.

I don't know if anyone has noticed or not, but Wendy McElroy seems to have become a regular at Foxnews.com with her iFeminists.com writings. The UCLA ad was prominently mentioned. Visit early and often...
