Women Leaders More Peaceful?

News Spartacus sent in this link from the L.A. Times about the recent news that Japan's princess is pregnant, and writes "This time the you don't have to read between the lines to get the feminist agenda: "No announcement has yet been made on the sex of the child. But recent calls by the prime minister for legal changes allowing women to ascend the throne have fueled speculation that the child will be a girl. Women's groups and social critics say having an empress could help improve women's profile--and give Japan a better monarch. "Men always seem to be starting wars," said Midori Watanabe, a professor at Bunka Women's University and expert on the royal family. "So we definitely need a female ruler as a symbol of peace in the 21st century.""

Never mind that some of the reputed bloodiest monarchs in history have been female.

Ho-hum. Adrienne Clarkson (Canada's Governor General) said the same thing when Canada's Prime Minister Jean Chretien last appointed a federal judge (a woman).

Everyone assumes that women as rulers will be more peaceful and (although they often don't say it) better governors. The assumption is that everything that's ever gone wrong with government in the past has been because the governors have been male. Everything that has gone right has been because that's just the way things work when you leave them alone.

I don't mind female rulers. I always think to myself that I hope I'm still around when the world gets an ugly shock and wakes up. The next Hitler will be different, but she'll be female.

Oh, you mean like ...

  • Margaret Thatcher (the Falklands War, among other amusements)

  • Indira Gandhi (whose brutal repression in the Punjab resulted in her assassination)

  • Victoria, Queen-Empress of the British Empire throughout the 19th century (e.g. the Opium Wars, conquest of India, etc.)

  • Catherine "the Great" of Russia (who is said to have died when a stallion with which she was copulating fell on her)

  • Empress Wu of China (whose tender mercies included killing her own children)

  • The Dowager Empress Cixi (who imprisoned and starved to death her own nephew the Emperor, and single-handedly prevented China becoming a modern nation peacefully in the late 1800s, thus making inevitable that unfortunate land's suffering in the last century)

  • And of course, the most ruthlessly efficient military on the planet, made up entirely of prepubescent females: the army ants of the aptly-named Amazon forest in South America
  • ....

    To be sure.

This cowshit is so tiresome. Nevertheless 99% of the women who repeat such garbage do believe it. Reason does not enter the picture; she just knows she's right.

Human males, like the males of all sexual species, are - in normal, unconscious life, anyway - but tools and proxies of the females who make them. Front men, fall guys, whipping boys. In fact everything is done on women's behalf, including every war ever fought (as well as the invention of Teflon), but they're not responsible.

If the next Hitler is female, she will certainly be different: subtler and much more effective. She will "take care" of us "for our own good." Nobody must suffer from the painful necessity of making decisions; everything that is not compulsory is prohibited. President Hillary, anyone?

Anyway, let us not forget that such "leaders" as Hitler get nowhere without the support of the women of their nations. They're front men for the national consensus, and women are in the majority everywhere. In Mao's China, it was the block wardens, busybody grandmothers who oversaw the smallest details of their neighbors' lives, who were the foundation of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat.

As the Ancients knew, Woman cannot be reasoned with; she can only be contained. Or not, as at present. Welcome to Paradise.
