Nightmist writes "Excite posted this story about a new drug which appears to slow the progress of prostate cancer to the bones. The article explains that the spread of prostate cancer to the bones is usually the most painful stage of the disease, and is a major cause of death among men with the cancer. The drug is no cure (it doesn't kill cancer cells), but it apparently does prevent them from growing."

Just a reminder: National Men's Health Week is June 11-17.
Right now, the largest killer of men is lung cancer. Prostate cancer, although not the largest killer, kills nearly an equal amount of men as breast cancer does women (and breast cancer is the leading killer of women nowadays). Our lifespans are shorter. We tend to live our lives more self-destructively (although women are "catching up" to us there). Mark June 11-17 on your calendars and make a pledge to get a physical, or at least use it to draw attention to male health issues in your community.
