Low-income Men Less Likely to be Screened for Prostate Cancer

Men's Health Anonymous User writes "Excite once again reveals men's health news that exposes some (perhaps unintentional) inequity in men's health. The article's main focus is the fact that men of lower incomes are less likely to be screened for prostate cancer, but also points out that prostate screenings are not as accurate as they should be. The physician quoted in the story maintains that scientists are seeking ways to improve the accuracy of prostate screenings."

The submitter also had this to add, which I didn't include in the main blurb for space reasons:

"It's too bad there aren't as many free screenings for prostate cancer as there are for breast cancer, although some sporting events in the south (like NASCAR races) are nowadays providing free prostate screenings for men at those events. By the way, I've mentioned Excite as a good source for men's news in several posts, but there's still no better source for it than Mensactivism.org. :)"

I might add, that's only because I have users like this person who submits such high quality news articles!

Please e-mail me privately at scott@mensactivism.org, Anon User. I'd like to speak with you further.
