False Accusations Two men have been cleared of rape charges in a Massachusetts trial where it was discovered that tape recordings presented during the trial were fabricated. One of the 'vindicated' men was quoted as saying, "These allegations cost me my job and damaged my reputation. I have no faith in the legal system when an innocent guy can be put through all this." Welcome to the United States, where one is guilty until proven innocent, especially in cases such as this. The Taunton Daily Gazette printed the story here.

I count 5 times in this article that the manufacturer of false evidence is referred to as the "victim".

Her punishment for attempting to send 2 men to prison is ---- anonymity.

I believe it was mentioned at the beginning of the article that it was a "four man" gang rape, and only two have been found innocent. That's probably the reason they still refer to the woman as a "victim". Of course, I don't think a person deserves much sympathy if they go around falsely accusing others of crimes, and it only belittles their own situation if it is indeed true.

I know someone who has falsely accused several people of molestation, abuse, and/or rape. She has a lot of problems and it may even be true that she went through somothing like this in the past, but I cannot have any sympathy for her because of the way she's ruined people's lives and caused so many problems because of the false accusations.
