Women’s rights movements provoke mass hysteria, perpetuate victimhood culture

'In the era of the Women’s March and the #MeToo movement, victimization and identity politics have been brought to the forefront of American culture.

The growing popularity of these movements has almost made them household names. The catchy and inescapable hashtags on social media have made them nearly impossible to ignore, and it is clear they are not going away any time soon. College campuses especially are hotbeds for these movements. With support from professors and many student organizations, their messages are heard campuswide.

While these movements have good intentions at heart, their actions are often undermined by their fallacious beliefs, which are grounded on falsehoods and hazy statistics. Feminists tend to promote the idea that we live in a culture that accepts and in some ways promotes rape. Let’s set the record straight — there is no rape culture in the United States, and there certainly isn’t one on college campuses either. One common misconception that is used to support such claims is that 1 in 4 women will experience sexual assault on campus. While this statistic is often proclaimed by these movements and even taught by universities, it is simply a myth.

Universities have been at the forefront of the biased feminist agenda. Obama-era policies that required the minimal “preponderance of the evidence” (51 percent guilty) to suspend or even expel the accused have made college campuses treacherous grounds for students. This is due to universities initiating zero-tolerance policies and suspending students without due process, which consequently is a problem with students being wrongfully blamed or found guilty with insufficient evidence.'
