"Women Outpace Men In Economic Advancement, And That's Good News"

Article here. Excerpt:

'Women have gradually evolved into an economic force to be reckoned with, going by the results of a survey by the U.S. Census Bureau.

In a report titled "The Changing Economics and Demographics of Young Adulthood: 1975–2016," author Jonathan Vespa noted more young men are falling to the bottom of the income ladder while more young women are climbing up the income ladder. Additionally, more young adult women were employed in 2016 compared to 1975.

The report defines young adult population as aged between 18 and 34 years and looked at two periods — 1975 and the contemporary period, defined as data pertaining to 2012 to 2016.
...
As opposed to 48.3 percent of young women employed in 1975, currently 70.4 percent are employed. On the other hand, the percentage of young men in employment has slipped to 83.7 percent from 84.9 percent.

Kevin O'Leary of "Shark Tank" fame has more evidence of women being better business owners. A CNN Money article, quoting an interview by O'Leary, said in 2016 that 52 percent of the 32 companies in his private portfolio were run by women.
...
With the demographics showing more women moving into the employment market and doing relatively well in terms of the earnings they make, it is a definite pointer toward businesses being run in a better and realistic manner. It's time to celebrate the women power in-the-works in business.'

https://www.theguardian.com/money/2015/aug/29/women-in-20s-earn-more-men-same-age-study-finds

'Women in their 20s have reversed the gender pay gap, but their earning power is still overtaken by men later in life. Figures compiled by the Press Association have shown that between the ages of 22 and 29, a woman will typically earn £1,111 more per annum than her male counterparts.

Using data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), PA analysed the comparative earnings of men and women between 2006 and 2013. Statistics for 2014 have yet to be verified and were excluded.

While younger women in their 20s came out top in the earning stakes, the story was vastly different for workers in their 30s. A man turning 30 in 2006 would have brought in on average £8,775 more than a woman of the same age.'

Just wait. As Millenial women hit their 30s, they will either have one kid or none at all. They are likely to continue working or if they can dupe a guy into paying them to stay home (and rook him later on the way out), that is always a possibility. Either way, she gets the marbles, he gets the shaft.

When this society has died off, I wonder what the replacement for it will look like? Will it be filled with reactionary religious kooks running around throwing acid in the faces of women who won't keep them covered, or androids acting like people but not actually being them, with the few remaining actual human beings preferring to bang them instead of other actual human beings? Or some of both?

I am so glad I won't be here to see it.

As more and more women take over the professions, it raises a related question: will these women take time off to have families? A lot of them do, which means the number of professionals, such as doctors and lawyers, will be reduced. Which makes it harder for the rest of us to obtain a doctor or lawyer.

I understand this has already happened in Britain, where the number of women who take time off to have kids has reduced the number of doctors available.

In short, we may be unwise to rely on female professionals. Male professionals, on the other hand, don't typically take time off to have kids. They just work harder.

don't see any future shortage of lawyers. just check the phone book. pages and pages and ... once u do away w/ the ethical requirements (precepts of law), like equality, fairness and truth... heck, anybody can be one then. I read where the u.s. has more than every other country combined. maybe fewer (especially in wash.) would be a very good thing, eh?

as for causing a shortage of medical doctors, some countries like G.B. are already seeing the effects of that.

so now womenz are doing better than menz in the workplace, and in college. I guess there really isn't any more need for the favoritism and inequality, and the subsequent damage done to our constitutional values caused by decades of affirmative action, is there?

hel! no? yeah, that's what I thought. once freebies get awarded, for any reason, its near impossible (short of a civil war) to get them back and right society's ship of state. shucks, its so un-p.c. to breach the topic, anybody will be attacked just for talking about it.

that's the proof of the irreparable damage it does.

Women like to be lawyers because it gives power to hurt men. At least, feminist lawyers do.

The good news is that women rarely go into things like plumbing, so even if you can't see a doctor, you can get the drain cleared. :)

... hear feminists complain about the relative paucity of women in trades like plumbing, masonry, carpentry, roofing, etc. Just jobs where they can stay physically clean and sweat-free. And powerful. With all manner of professional rights/privileges.

And yet, refuse collectors... few if any women in garbage-collection, even though it pays very well in many places (like the trades), and yet... and yet...
